● 4-person apartments: 2 double rooms and 1.5 baths with kitchen, living room, washer/dryer on first floor

● 5-person apartments: 2 double rooms and 1 single room with 2 baths. Kitchen and living room on first floor. Laundry services are available in the Woodlands Community Room.

● 10-person apartments: 5 double rooms and 5 bathrooms, includes kitchen, living room, dishwasher, washer/dryer

● Room Prices: 4 and 5 Person Residences: $8,640/year 10 Person Residences: $9,204/ year

● 19 Meals Per Week, 15 Meals Per Week, and 150 Block Plans come with 3 meal equivalency swipes per week total at the Study Grounds and Atrium locations.

● 150 Block Plan - offers flexibility as the 150 meals can be used throughout the semester and carry over from week to week. Unused meals or Dining Dollars do NOT carry over from semester to semester.

● Unlimited Meal Plan: provides students with the flexibility to enter the Nazareth Dining Hall as many times as they would like. If a student elects for a take-out meal, they would be unable to re-enter during the same meal period. In addition, the take-out meal option is only available during a meal period that the student hasn’t already entered the Nazareth Dining Hall.

ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS● Residency Requirement: All unmarried, full-time students

are required to reside in University housing during their first two years of enrollment unless they are at least 21 years of age, and/or living with their parent or guardians in their primary family homes, within a 50 mile radius of the University's campus.

● Who is NOT eligible to participate in Room Selection? - Students studying abroad for the Fall 2020 semester - Incoming 1st year and transfer students for 2020-2021 - Students that will only be registered part-time

*We are unable to reserve spaces for students returning from study abroad in Spring 2021*

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN ROOM SELECTION

1. Fill out 2020-2021 Undergraduate Housing & Dining Agreement and Preference Form

*Login using your Marywood email address and password*

2. Pay $300 deposit to the Cashier’s Office (due 5 PM, Fri, Apr. 17)

● Make Check or Money Order payable to Marywood University● For directions on how to pay housing deposit online, please click here● There is a 2.85% service charge for all transactions using a credit/debit

card.

3. Register for Fall 2020 courses (by 5 PM, Fri, April 17th)*Must be registered for at least 1 credit for Fall 2020 to participate in Room Selection*

WHEN TO ATTEND ROOM SELECTION● Go to the Housing and Residence Life webpage for Room Selection

Requirements and click the following link: https://portal.marywood.edu/student/Pages/room.aspx

**This link will not become active until after the start of registration for Fall 2020 classes on April 1st, 2020.**

● If you have registered for Fall 2020 courses you will see:

Cumulative GPA as of Fall 2019

Total number of completed credits as of Fall 2019 semester

Number of registered credits for Fall 2020 Once all

criteria is met, this area will show when to attend Room Selection

VARIOUS ROOM SELECTION PROCESSES

Students studying abroad for the Fall 2020 semester (returning to housing for Spring 2021 semester) and new incoming first year and transfer students for 2020-2021 are not eligible to participate in any of the Room Selection processes. Spaces cannot be reserved for these students.

ROOM ENCORERoom Encore Criteria:● The space must currently be eligible. Ineligible spaces include, but

are not limited to: - Loughran Hall - Woodland Graduate Residences (Apts. 25, 33-36) - Woodland Residences containing RA rooms - ADA rooms (including Madonna Hall single rooms)

*Eligible spaces is subject to change.*

● At least one applicant must be a current resident of the requested location. Applications can only be submitted for the room in which the applicant(s) reside- not rooms adjoined by a bathroom.

● All spaces within the room/ apartment must be filled.

Example 1: Deluxe Suite in Madonna- must have 5 people

Example 2: Woodland 4-person apartment must have 4 people

ROOM ENCORE, CONTINUED…How to Apply For Room Encore (Deadline: 4:30 PM, Friday, March 27)● Complete an online Room Encore Application form (one per group)

● Complete Undergraduate Housing Application (each person) *Submission of a Room Encore application does NOT guarantee

approval!*

By 5:00 PM, Friday, April 17● Be registered for at least 1 credit for Fall 2020 (each person)

● Pay $300 housing deposit to Cashier’s Office (each person)*Students who submit all required documentation for the Room Encore process and then ask for a different placement will NOT be eligible to select another space until after Room Selection is over.*

*Failure to complete the above requirements will result in an incomplete application and the space(s) will be made available at Room Selection.*

THEMED HOUSINGExamples of Past Themed Housing Communities: - Big House (Christian Living) - Wellness - Green Living - Service

● Housing needs depend on your group’s needs and membership. In the past, communities have been located in Regina Hall, Madonna Hall, and the Woodland Residences.

● Only students listed on the Themed Housing Application will be eligible to live in the community, if the theme is approved.

● Submission of a Themed Housing Application does not guarantee approval.

THEMED HOUSING, CONTINUED...How To Apply For Themed Housing (Deadline: 4:30 PM, Fri, March 27:● Complete an online Themed Housing Application (one for group)

● Find a Faculty/ Staff Advisor and have them complete the online Faculty/Staff Advisor Form

● Complete a 2020-2021 Undergraduate Housing Application (each person)

By 5:00 PM, Fri, April 17th● Pay $300 Housing deposit to Cashier’s Office (each person)

● Register for at least 1 credit for the Fall 2020 semester (each person)

WHAT DO I DO IF I CANNOT ATTEND ROOM SELECTION?

● If you are unable to attend Room Selection at your designated time, you are able to select someone to be a Proxy for you and select your room for you.

● Your proxy will attend Room Selection during your designated time and will need to bring the proxy form signed by you and the person going through Room Selection for you.

● Proxy Forms can be found online or at the Housing and Residence Life office, LAC 227

● You must have your online housing form completed, housing deposit paid, and be registered for at least 1 credit for Fall 2020 by 5 PM on Friday, April 17 in order for your proxy to be able to select a space for you.

HOUSING ACCOMMODATIONS

● If you are requesting housing accommodations due to a documented disability, then you will need to contact Kaitlin Anderle, Director of Student Disability Services

● March 27, 2020 is the priority deadline for students requesting housing accommodations due to a documented disability. Requests received after March 27th will be considered; however, advance notice is preferred whenever possible in order to evaluate student requests thoroughly.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER

● Friday, March 27th, 4:30 PM:- Themed Housing & Room Encore Applications are due.- Priority deadline for students requesting housing accommodations due to a documented disability.

● By April 1, 2020: $300 “Deposit Due” amount will be posted on undergraduate student accounts for residential students not graduating at the end of the Spring 2020 semester.

● Week of April 13-17: Students participating in Themed Housing and Room Encore processes will be notified of placements via Marywood e-mail.

● Friday, April 17th, 5:00 PM: Must be registered for at least 1 credit for Fall 2020 and have $300 housing deposit paid

NOT RETURNING TO ON-CAMPUS HOUSING?

● If you have NOT met the two-year residency requirement, you will need to meet one of the following criteria in order to be approved to move off campus:

1. You will no longer be enrolled at Marywood University. 2. You are switching from full-time to part-time status.

3. You are graduating. 4. You are participating in a study abroad program.

5. You have experienced a financial hardship which is different than what was reported on your FAFSA.*

6. You will be commuting from a parent/guardian’s permanent, primary address, which is within 50 miles of campus.*

* Needs supporting documentation submitted with Release From Housing Application.*Please keep in mind that commitment to off-campus housing does not constitute a

financial hardship nor is it grounds for release from housing.

NOT RETURNING TO ON-CAMPUS HOUSING?

What To Do:1. Complete a Release From Housing Application and submit in person to the

Housing and Residence Life Office (LAC 227) or online to [email protected].

2. Submit any supporting documentation if necessary (for students indicating financial hardship or commuting).

3. You will be emailed via your Marywood email address notifying you of the status of your application.

*Submission of a Release From Housing Application does NOT guarantee approval.*

*Please keep in mind that this process takes a few days to complete. Do not wait until the end of the semester to turn in your application.*

After Application Has Been Approved:

- Make an appointment to check out of residence hall room with a RA.

- Return resident mailbox key to the Housing and Residence Life Office, LAC 227.
