1 A student carries out an experiment to investigate the relationship between the
sine of the angle of incidence, iand the sine of the angle of refraction, rof a glass
block.
The arrangement of the apparatus for the experiment is shown in Figure 1.1
Seorang pelajar menjalankan eksperimen untuk mengkaji hubungan di antara sin sudut tuju,i dan
sin sudut biasan,r bagi suatu blok kaca.
Susunan alat radas eksperimen seperti yang ditunjukkan pada Rajah 1.
A ray of light is directed along the angle of incidence,i= 20oand forms the angle
of refraction, r. The angle of refraction is measured by using a protractor. The
corresponding reading ofr1, is shown in Figure 1.2 on page 5.
The experiment is repeated by varying the angle of incidence, i, to 30o, 40
o, 50
o
and 60o. The corresponding angles of refraction, rare shown in Figures 1.3, 1.4,
1.5 and 1.6 on pages 6 and 7 respectively.
Satu sinar cahaya ditujukan ke bongkah kaca pada sudut tuju, i = 20o dan membentuk sudut
biasan, r. Sudut biasan diukur dengan menggunakan protrektor. Bacaan sudut biasan, r1 yang
sepadan ditunjukkan pada Rajah 1.2 pada halaman 5.

Answer any one questions.Jawab mana-mana satu soalan.
3 Figure 3(a) and 3(b) show two similar electric kettles used to boil water. The
power ratings for the kettles are 240 V, 1000 W. It is found that the water in
the kettle in Figure 3(b) boils faster than the water in the kettle in Figure 3(a).Rajah 3(a) dan 3(b) menunjukkan dua buah cerek elektrik yang serupa , digunakan untuk
mendidihkan air. Kadar kuasa cerek-cerek tersebut adalah 240 V, 1000 W. Didapati air
dalam cerek di Fajah 3(b) mendidih lebih cepat berbanding dengan air dalam cerek di Rajah
3(a).

The bulb in Figure 4(b) lights up brighter than the bulb in Figure 4(a).
