What is Dry Grad? A Dry Grad is an event that provides students with a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment to celebrate their graduation. It is a fully supervised fun event, sponsored by the parents, where the grads can celebrate their graduation with their friends in a safe environment.

When & where is Dry Grad? Dry Grad takes place after the graduation ceremony and the dinner/dance on Tuesday, June 27th. It will occur at the G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre from 11:30pm until 4:00am June 28th. Grads MUST be picked up from Pearkes by a pre-authorized adult.

What happens at Dry Grad? Grads leave the dinner dance at UVic around 11pm by bus to G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre. They arrive and change clothes. Clothing needs to be dropped at the school in the week prior to Grad. Clothing drop off details will be sent out and available on the website in the next few weeks. Grads do not have in/out privileges. There will be a variety of activities for them to participate in. There will also be prize draws for those attending.

How much will Dry Grad cost? Dry Grad is fully fundraised by parents, community donations and supplemented by ticket cost. The more dollars that are fundraised, the less the cost of a ticket. In the past, ticket prices have ranged from $60-$75. It is very important to note the school’s budget does not fund this event. Please consider taking a donation letter to someone you know who owns a local business to solicit a donation for prizes or a cash donation. A dry grad event costs between $15,000-$20,000 to put on. Every donation assists lessening that cost!

How to donate: Please advise the cashiers at the beginning of the transaction that you would like to donate the bottle refund to the "Spectrum Dry Grad 2017" account. Please note: you only need to reference the account name "Spectrum Dry Grad 2017" to donate and not by any account numbers that may be found on some of the account transaction receipts. Each depot will have a different account number for this account.

Photos of your young Grads The committee will be getting the baby pictures you already sent into the school for Grad, but if you have a young picture of your Grad or a group of current Grads email those in. We need your help by volunteering on Dry Grad night to assist with the many tasks in order to make this year’s Dry Grad a complete success. Julie Singh our Volunteer Coordinator and I will stay after the meeting tonight in hopes that if you have not already volunteered you will sign up.
