With the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia – Roma and Sir Antonio Pappano, our artistic director Lisa Batiashvili celebrates the return of the arts to the big stage. This year the word “Sommerkonzerte” – summer concerts – is taken literally: with a top-class open air symphony con-cert in Klenzepark in Ingolstadt which will be shown live on the web for the first time. Presented to the world by none other than the delightful Sarah Willis.
Star DJ Paul van Dyk takes you to a place that has never before featured in the Sommerkonzerte: the EMV-Halle at Audi. He shows us how the best electronic trance rhythms for dancing can be gen-erated from classical music.

Football and classical music? What a match! The composer Shostakovich was a referee and passionate fan who wrote articles for sports papers. Today almost every football team has its own anthem. From Shostakovich to Queen, the Audi Wind Philhar- monic plays a repertoire with a love of football on the day of the Europe-an Championships quarter-finals!The presenter Sarah Willis is actually a horn player with the Berlin Philhar-monic. And who knows – among so many brass-blowing colleagues, perhaps she too will take up her instrument?

Singing makes you happy. And everyone can sing – though not on the same level as the members of Ensemble LauschWerk, which con-sists of former singers from the Audi Youth Choir Academy. From Ockeghem and Desprez to Elgar, enjoy vocal music at its very finest in the open air: “strong of impulse, bold, big” (Passauer Neue Presse). Hear it for yourselves!

A special signal for special times. To celebrate the return of culture to the big stage together with you, this year Audi is inviting everyone who is interested to a festival that is completely free: “Let‘s celebrate music!”
Reserving a seat and advance registration are absolutely essential for all who attend. Due to the continuing pandemic, the Audi Sommerkonzerte 2021 will take place entirely in the open air and on the web. All concerts at which an audience is present will be held without an interval and without refreshments.
