Some Historic Pics of Warwick and Stanthorpe Part 2 I’m imagining the walk on Sundays from St Catharine’s to St Mark’s and the buildings we passed I may have some in the wrong order! There are several pics of the statue of Mr Byrnes. It was always fun to see if he had a pie or an empty bottle in his hand or a hat or beanie on his head………….. Warwick was the first town on the Darling Downs established in 1849 on the banks of the Condamine River. The rich grazing land

around the area supports horse and cattle studs, fine wool and grain. In 1871 the railway from Ipswich came through. Warwick is situated 158km south west of Brisbane on the Cunningham Highway. (Information taken from:

Classic Queenslander residence, Feenagh, in Warwick, ca. 1920 contributed by QldPics taken in 1920Queen Anne style house with encircling verandahs built probably at the turn of the century in Warwick. The home is set on a large block and features wide verandahs and some lattice work on one corner of the front of the house.
