Soda Cracker Chocolate Candy 3540 soda crackers 1 cup butter, cubed 1 cup dark brown sugar (I used light) 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (or use milk chocolate chips, just make sure your chips aren’t imitation chips) 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (I like pecans) 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees 2. Line baking pan with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Place saltine crackers in a single layer to fill entire baking pan. 3. In a saucepan combine the sugar and butter. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. Immediately pour over the saltines and spread to cover crackers completely. 4. Bake for 57 minutes (crackers may float and leave in oven long enough so that toffee mixture slightly bubbles). 5. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over candy. Let sit for about 5 minutes, and then spread the melted chips evenly over the candy with a spatula. 6. Top immediately with chopped nuts and press down onto the candy using a greased spatula. 7. Cut into pieces while still warm (or break into pieces when completely cooled. I let them cool overnight) When completely cooled, remove from pan/foil and enjoy! Note: These also freeze very nicely in a zip lock bag and even taste good frozen.
