General DescriptionSMARToem is a pluggable module designedto enable easy integration of EthernetIndustrial Networks in equipments forElectric, Transportation, and IndustrialAutomation sectors.
This powerful module allows theimplementation of custom routers switchesor end-equipments with powerful networkingcapabilities. Network frame processing canbe performed by hardware using specific IPcores.
SoCe offers solutions implementable onSMARToem for: HSR, PRP, low-latencyEthernet, Profinet and Ethernet IP.
SoCe offers a carrier, SMARTcarrier , thatcan be used by the customers as a referenceto design their own one or to includeSMARToem in their equipments.
Key Features
Scalable Industrial Grade Xilinx FPGA:The Spartan-6 family provides leadingsystem integration capabilities with thelowest total cost for high-volumeapplications. Devices supported: XC6SLX45,XC6SLX75, XC6SLX100 and XC6SLX150.
512 Mb LPDDR: Fast SDRAM memory tostore software applications, protocols stacksor large buffers. Only necessary if an internalsoft-CPU want to be included. None ofSoCe ’s IP requires external RAM memory.
128 Mb Quad SPI Flash: Memory forfirmware and bitstream storage.
EEPROM with unique MAC integrated:Ready to use unique MAC in each module toreduce the time-to-market of the customerproduct.
6x Ethernet Phyters: Each one can beconfigured independently to work in10/100TX (copper) or 100FX (fibre). Thenumber of PHYs can be reduced accordingto the customer necessities.
Size: 88x60mm.
Temperature Sensor: Each module isprovided with an I2C temperature sensormounted on the PCB.
4x Leds indicator: 1 Power up led, 1 FPGAdone led and 2 General purpose LEDs. Also2x LED for each PHY (link status andactivity).
Generic GPIOs: Up to 20 GPIOs ready tobe used in the carrier.
Debug connector: Easy accessibleconnector on the top of the module thataccepts stand-alone powering, JTAG, I2Cand SPI.
High-reliability board-to-boardconnectors: Two board-to-board connectorsattach SMARToem module to the customercarrier.
Pin-out compatible with other modulesavailable on the market.
We provide full access to the schematics,PCB layout and Gerber for SoCe ’s IPcustomers.
