IN THE NEWS

To support and strengthen our pastor’s ministries, SLC offers a sabbatical after every six years of service. Pastor Paula will be embarking on her sabbatical this summer from June 3rd through September 4th. Sabbaticals are 3 months and usually over the summer months. Pastor Bill and Jonathan both have had sabbaticals in the recent past. Pastor Paula’s specific focus in addition to rest and renewal will be working on her writing ministry.

Pastor Bill, Pastor Jonathan and Marietta will all help to cover Pastor Paula’s responsibilities.

PB is excited about the strong interest in the next session of the Foundations class…….. Remember that this will be in the previous format where all content is presented in class with some discussion throughout. It turns out that there will be two options for times. Thursday Nights from 6:30-8:00pm Sundays after the late service from 11:30am-1:00pm. There is room for more! An exact schedule will be sent out via email. Also please, if you need child care for either the Thursday or Sunday class, simply indicate that on today’s ministry card or email the church.

SLC TO CHANGE FACILITY ALARM ACCESS CODES

We are changing our alarm panel codes for both buildings. This change is a prudent step

forward as we continue to seek out ways to improve building security and access control at

our church campus. We will be assigning "Individual Alarm Access Codes" for each group

and/or individual accessing the buildings. If you now have a key and access the building,

please contact Bruce in the church office to obtain your Individual Alarm Access

Code. Please be aware, that after July 1st, the old alarm panel codes will no longer

work and you will not be able to disarm or set the alarm; you must receive a new individual

alarm access code. If you have any questions, or to obtain your individual alarm access

code, contact Bruce (360) 692-9263.

Thursdays 6:30p—8:00 p OR

Sundays 11:30am to 1:00 pm

Attention Active Duty and Retired SLC Military Families! We are in the process of putting together a welcome brochure for military families that visit SLC. We want to welcome them, let them know what we have going on at SLC, and to encourage them to make SLC their church home. For the brochure, we would love to include a mix of pictures of current SLC military families-- pictures of you at church, in the community, in uniform, family photos, and maybe even at Lutherhaven. If you have pictures you might be willing to share, please email them to: [email protected]

Thank you so much! SLC Staff
