Queen Room Cottages Fri-Sat per night $120.00 - 200 sq. ft. "queen room". These basic
rooms sleep two persons. They were built in April 2012. The room
consists of a queen sized bed, end table, dining table with chairs,
and a bathroom. A ceiling fan and mini refrigerator come standard
as well. This model comes with both an attached uncovered patio
with picnic table and barbeque grill. The cottage is air conditioned
and heated. The two rooms in each duplex do share a common, but
insulated wall.
Several Other Larger Cottages Available Fri-Sat per night prices range $145-$240 Several other cabins which sleep more
people are available for those who want something larger. These may be the better
choice if you plan to bring family or want to share with another couple. For details
on each of these cottages, see the website. BEWARE that while some of these cottages list that they sleep 4 or more people, some of them do so because they utilize a loft area for sleeping. The loft areas may be only 4 feet high, and while this
may work for kids, adults may not find it suitable. If you are interested in these
larger cottages, please read the descriptions and/or call the resort.

*****Date Change*****Date Change***** Ice Cream Social Drive and Eat
When: Sunday, August 25, 2013 Meeting at: Flying J Truck Stop, Brookshire, TX I-10 and Hwy. 359, Exit 732 Time: 9:00 AM, Wheels Turning at 9:30 AM It will be the dog days of summer by August 25. Nothing will be moving outside this time of year in Houston. The heat will have taken its toll on the hardiest of the outdoor types by now. So come out for a little spirited driving and then wind down in old town Rosenberg with your favorite ice cream treat. Here is the plan. Get up early and meet everyone you know at the Flying J truck stop in Brookshire. Then climb in those cars, close up the windows, turn up the A/C, find suitable old and moldy 50’s and 60’s CDs, crank’em up, and then enjoy a little blow and go driving. When we get to Rosenberg, you will be transformed (although briefly) to your former self. If I did my job right, you will have passed an old Delorean on the way and then find you have gone back in time and awakened in a little old corner soda fountain. You will feel younger. You can flirt with all the girls and boys while you groove to some hip music. You will find all your favorite eats from burgers and fries to banana splits, malts, and sundaes. Pencil in the date now on your calendar. Come hungry, blow the diet and enjoy yourself with your fellow Corvetters. Check it out at www.anothertimesodafountain.com. Please RSVP. This is a relatively small place and I need to give them a pretty good idea how many Corvetters are coming. Finally, if you really want to work off the ice cream, stay a while and enjoy downtown rustic Rosenberg. It is a great place to visit. You will be right across the street from the train museum. There are plenty of other shops and sites to see. So make a day out of it. Hemi?? What does a Hemi have to do with a Corvette??
You’re right – nothing. But, once you’ve been to John Hovas’ “old car barn” in Brookshire, you might think a little differently about MOPARs. There are some fantastic examples of the Hemi era cars and the “barn” is definitely one of a kind. You have to see it to believe it! So, mark your calendar, shine up your Vette and get ready for a fun trip to see this great place.

Have a blast while entertaining your friends as you show off your skills in a
FUNKHANA! Then follow up with a guided tour of some of the most scenic spots on the Gulf Coast as you follow the Rallye instructions which will lead you on the path of knowledge to reveal the answers to the questions on everyone’s minds (and on the rally quiz). The Day will commence at 9:00am Saturday, Oct 19, at Clear Creek Community Church in League City (999 FM 270 North). Cars/Teams will be classified and safety checked (teched). Drivers Meeting will be at 9:45am and we will start the Funkhana at 10:00 am and each team will have 2 chances to compete for their best score. As teams finish the Funkhana, they will be allowed to start the Rallyes which will include driving directions to lead you on the rallye route, and a list of questions to which the answers may be found as you drive the route. In addition, you will also have stops along the route where you will draw a card from a deck to determine your “poker hand”. There will be winners (and losers) for your score on the rallye questions as well as the poker hand. You will undoubtedly be hungry from your strenuous activities as you complete the rallye, so fortunately it will end in a location with a selection of eateries to serve your taste as you compare notes with your fellow competitors. Hopefully you drivers and you navigators will forget all those things you said to each other during the rallye and enjoy eating together; if not there will probably be others who will also be looking for different company for a late lunch.

When: Saturday, November 16, 2013 Meeting at: Brookshire Brothers, I-59 and FM-1485,
New Caney Exit (North bound side right after you exit.) Time: 9:00 AM, Wheels Turning at 9:30 AM We are going to the great Sam Houston National Forest again this year. It is getting harder and harder to find roads we have not done before but I think you will agree, we found some new and nicely tree lined roads to enjoy. The fall colors should be at their peak for our area. The weather should be perfect at that time of year for taking the tops off and doing some full blown cruising. Some of the roads are very rural and rough in spots and we will take them at moderate speeds. Enjoy them for what they are. Perfect pictures into the heart of Texas. Never fear, I have a number of highways picked out that should allow for some spirited driving the fall tour is famous for. At the end of the run, we will wind up at the Huntsville State Park for an outdoor extravaganza for lunch. We will be featuring the world famous, at least in their minds, Chef Mike and Chef Geoff creating an outstanding variety of grilled foods to enjoy. Bring some chairs, a beverage of your choice and a simple appetizer, side dish or desert in disposable containers to accompany the meal. Remember, this is a state park and there are strict rules on public consumption of alcoholic beverages. If you plan on consuming alcoholic beverages, be discreet and keep the containers out of sight. The Texas Park has an entrance fee of $5 per person. Please have the proper change ready when we come into the park entrance. Also, bring $10 per person to cover the grilled meats and supplies being furnished by the Chef’s. Any extra money collected after expenses will be donated to the annual club Christmas fund raiser. When we are done, it will be just a short hop back to I-45 and the route south to Houston. So come join us. What have you to lose? It is going to be fun in the sun on the Fall Foliage Run. Please RSVP. Contact us if you have any questions. Please let us know what you are planning to bring so we can coordinate the food.
