(Sound : Introduction Song from Brave the Movie)

Narrator : In a far faraway land, there lived a happy family. There were Si Tanggang,

the cheerful son; his loving mother, Mak Deruma and also his kind

and hardworking father, Pak Talang. Unfortunately, one day Pak Talang

had a heart attack and he died. Yes, leaving Si Tanggang and Mak Deruma

alone in their poor and shabby hut.

Narrator : After a few days,

MAK: Tanggang, my son. There is actually something I need to tell you.

(Sobbing) Before your dearest father died, my son, he gave me something

and wanted me to pass it to you.

TANGGANG : What is it, Mak?

Mak: This is a treasure chest from your Bapak. He wanted you to open it only

after he passed away.

(Sound: Piano Instrumental-

Narrator: Tanggang opened the treasure chest and read the letter. Tanggang

looked puzzled.

(Slides: Letter from Si Talang)

Tanggang: Mak, can I ask you something? Is it okay if I could travel to Great Britain,

Mak?

Mak: Why do you want to go there, my son? Absolutely no. I have no one else

besides you after your Bapak died. I can’t bear to lose you too. Please

don’t go. Do you want to see me live and die alone in this little hut all by

myself? (Emotionally)

Tanggang: But Mak…

Mak: No buts I said. Just no. I can’t lose my only son and the only blood I have.

I just can’t.

Tanggang : But Mak. Its Bapak’s last will. I must try to fulfill it. That’s all I can do for

him right now.

(Strokes Mak’s hair)

No Mak. You won’t be alone. You can come along. I would love to have

you with me. I will never leave you alone in this hut. Never Mak. Never in

my life I’ll do that. You know how much I love you, right? I’ll never leave

you. Never. I promise.

Mak: Oh. Is that so? Then why didn’t you tell me earlier? (Giggled) If you are

willing to let me come with you, then that’s okay for me. I can already

imagine the snow now, Tanggang.

(Captain : All aboard!)

(Sound : Spongebob Squarepants song)

Narrator : Tanggang and his Mak wanted to aboard the ship. But they did not have enough money to pay for the ride. They begged the captain to let

them on board and the captain finally decided to put Tanggang’s mother in the store but in exchanged, Tanggang must do some works on the deck.

When the tide is high,The day is bright,The wind is right,

We sail with all our might.

(Ai ai, captain!)

SCENE 3

Narrator : After 2 months, the ship landed on the shore of Great Britain. Tanggang and his mother walked somewhere near the jungle and they finally

found an abandoned small hut where they could rest there overnight. Tanggang could hear Mak’s stomach was growling.

Tanggang: Mak, I’ll find us some food okay? I want you to stay put and safe. Please

don’t go anywhere. I’ll be right back here.

Narrator : On his way into the jungle to look for some food to eat, Tanggang heard this amazing and soothing voice echoing in the jungle.

Tanggang whistle happily- while looking for berries

(Take 1)

[Song : Reflection]

Look at me,

I may never pass for a perfect girl, or a perfect daughter.

Can it be,I'm not meant to play this part?

Now I see, that if I were truly to be myself,

I would break my father's heart.

Who is that girl I see, staring straight back at me?

Why is my reflection someone I don't know?

When will my reflection show, who I am, inside?

Sorcerer: Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.

(Sorcerer climbed the tower using Rapunzel’s hair)

SCENE 4

Narrator : Tanggang was really amazed by Rapunzel’s beauty. He could not believe his eyes to see such a beautiful young lady in the middle of the

jungle.

Tanggang: Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.

(Tanggang climed the tower using Rapunzel’s hair)

Rapunzel: I’m coming,father. I’m coming.

Rapunzel let down her hair and Tanggang went up her chamber without Rapunzel noticing that it was not her father but someone else.

Rapunzel: Who are you, stranger? Where is my father? What have you done to him? *Rapunzel stormed Tanggang with questions.

Tanggang: Wow wow… Hold on, pretty face. You’re voice brought me here.

*Rapunzel blushed*

Narrator: And then, both of them talked for hours and hours. They did not even realized how time had passed so quickly. Bit by bit, Rapunzel and Si

Tanggang fell in love. Since that day, Tanggang would come back to the tower to see his love.

(Take 2)

(Sound : Allies)

Rapunzel : Do you have a family, Si Tanggang? You must be from a high-born where

you have castles where you can live happily in it; stallion which are fast as

lighting and men who are ready to fight with you and also for you.

Tanggang: (Hesitate)

Oh. Yes. I have gold, diamonds and rubies. My father is a Duke of Tanah

Melayu and my mother is the Dutches. We have hundreds of horses and

men. As I could ride any of the horses to the nearby shores and lay on the

green grass all night with the stars sparkling everywhere above me. It’s just

paradise.

Rapunzel: Oh really, my love? That’s just so wonderful. You don’t know how lucky you

are to have all of that. To be free and happy all the time. Ahh, that would be

a wonderful feeling, my love.

(Take 3)

Narrator: While the two love birds were madly in love, they did not realized that the

wicked sorcerer had seen everything through his crystal globe of

darkness.

Sorcerer:

*monolog*

You ungrateful child! How dare you let a stranger come into our tower?

How dare you disobey me?

How dare you disobey me,

Don’t talk to any stranger,

How could you, my beloved daughter,

Now, Im sad but full of anger.

Narrator: Rapunzel told Tanggang about his father, the wicked sorcerer and how she had ended up in this tower.

Tanggang: Whaattt? You have not been in the outside world, my love? Let me show

you. Are you ready?

*Rapunzel and Tanggang exit the stage.*

SCENE 5

Tanggang : Come, my Love. Let us embark on a new journey together. Let us free

ourselves from this wicked sorcerer. I have a castle far faraway from this

land. The sorcerer will never find us there. Come with me.

Rapunzel : But my lovely Tanggang, I can’t dare to leave my father here. He is the one

who fed me, give me shelter and all the needs I wanted.

Tanggang : No, Rapunzel. No, my Love. You know you will not be safe here with him.

Sooner or later, he’ll kill you one day. I’m your true love. We are meant to

be together. I’ll be your knight in the shining amour. I’ll protect you from all

the harm and evil in this world, my love. And I’ll love you with all my heart

and will take care of you until my last breath. Because for me,

Narrator : Meanwhile in the castle, the sorcerer was searching for Rapunzelbut no one was there. He became really angry and mad. He

then quickly flew around the jungle to look for Rapunzel. When Tanggang and Rapunzel were on their way back to the shore to look for a ride back home, they suddenly bumped into Tanggang’s mother, Mak who was looking for some berries.

(Sound: Bushes)

Tanggang: Who goes there?!

Mak: Oh Tanggang. It’s you. I thought it was someone I didn’t know. I was

looking for some berries here.

Rapunzel: Tanggang, do you know this old and filthy lady?

SCENE 6

Tanggang : Who are you, old lady? How dare you claim me your son. You’re nothing

but a poor and ugly old lady.

Mak: Oh my. How could you say that, my son? (Sobbing.)

I’ve loved you with all my heart. How could you say that I’m not your

mother? Have you forgotten your promise to me? You said you’ll never

leave me.

Tanggang: (Spit at his mother)

No. No. No! I don’t have a mother like you. My mother is rich and wealthy.

Go away from here, old lady. Don’t you dare call me your son. Crazy old

lady !

*Tanggang pushes Mak away from him. Hardly. All of the sudden, at the blink of the eyes, came like magic (Zaappp).*

Sorcerer : I’m your father,

You’re my daughter,

How could you, my beloved daughter,

He’s just a stranger,

Is he better.

(Evil laugh…)

How dare you disobey Rapunzel.. Rapunzel… You think you can run away

from me?! HAHAHA… I know everything that lies in and beneath this

jungle. And is this the guy you fall in love with? Huh?! You’ve make a big

mistake, young lady.

(Sorcerer makes a disgusting face)

Rapunzel: Tanggang! Tanggang ! Do something! Help me!

(Hide behind Tanggang’s back)

Tanggang : Don’t worry, my love. I’m here for you.

(Confront the witch)

You can do me no harm. For I am strong and the love that we have can

empower every evil against us.

Sorcerer: Naah. No need to hide. I can still see you Rapunzel. Haha.

(Sound : Piano Instrumental)

Sorcerer : (Cast a spell on Tanggang)

I call all in the hell,

So, I cast a spell,

By the power…..

Mak: Mark my word. You can never harm my son. For I am his mother and

nothing is stronger than a mother’s love, what comes around, goes around

and so does your curse.

Sorcerer: Huhh! You dare to challenge me? I’m the most powerful sorcerer alive. Let

see how strong your so called mother’s-love.

I call all in the hell,

So, I cast a spell,

By the power of frog bone,

You will become stone.

Mak: Tangganggggggggg!

(Mak pushed Tanggang and let the spell/ magic hit her.)

By the divine love from a mother to her son, I wish this evil and wicked

sorcerer will turn into stone too.

Sorcerer: Hahahaha! You can’t change me into stone. You’re just an old lady with so

called mother and love can’t do me no harm

*Suddenly, the sorcerer’s body turned into stone.*

*Tanggang and Rapunzel were shocked.*

SCENE 7

Rapunzel: Tanggang, my love. You do know that you’re the only one I want to spend

my life with forever. I think now is the best time for us to escape. No one

can stop us anymore. Let’s go, my dear. Lets run away from everyone. I

just want to be free! Free, free from everything!

Tanggang: But Rapunzel, my love. *looking at his mother and back to Rapunzel*

You do know that I love you with all my heart and soul. Nothing in the

universe could compare my love to you. But, I love my mother more. She’s

the reason why I’m still alive today. After my father died, she means the

world to me. She gave me love and shelter and share me her rainbow

Even though she’s poor, but the love in her could never be compared.

Rapunzel: (In tears)

Oh my God! What have I’ve done? He’s my father yet I wanted to run way

and betray him.

Tanggang: No Mak! I need you. Please forgive me! (Sobbing)

*Tanggang crawls towards Mak*

Narrator: In the end, the tears of love and regret broke the spell. The sorcerer and Mak Deruma became human again. Everyone was overjoyed.

Sorcerer : (Monolog)

Maybe I shouldn’t lock her in the tower. As a father. I should show her kinder

love. For everything in this world can be overcome by the power of love.

Even me, the most evil creation in this whole wide world can change due to

my daughter’s love, so thus you.

Love your parents.

Love and be happy,

Love everyone,

And love will come back to you.

Narrator : Tanggang and Rapunzel were getting married.

(Sound: I think I want to marry you)

Tanggang put on the ring

*mak and tanggang were seating and facing each other*

Mak: I wish your father was here. I wish we were home, living happily at home

together. (in tear)

Tanggang: Yes, I know Mak. I feel the same, I wish he was here too. Our love for him

will stay forever in our hearts. I also wish we were home Mak. There’s no

place like home.

*Rapunzel and sorcerer join in*

I’m sorry, Deruma, but If you don’t mind me asking, may I know where your

husband is?

Mak: Oh. You mean Talang, the love of my life. He died 3 months ago. He’s a

very loving husband and father and I dear him so much.

Sorcerer: Oh my. Talang? You mean Talang Bin Baharom? The man who loved to

travel through sea and land? He’s my friend. He had entrusted me with his

treasures. You’re the Tanggang that I’ve been searching for.

Mak: *Mak closed her eyes. Feeling touched*

Ahh. Tonight is one of the best moments in my life. My dearest son got

married with the love of his life and my husband last will finally been fullfied.

It is full of kind and love tonight. Am I right, my friend?
