Therefore due to the female gaze, I think that this would attract my female audience that is intended Mise en Scene Hair makeup and costume: I would like my artists to wear clothes that look presentable however I do not want them to look to over the top because the main aim is for my target audience to want to be like them, so the clothes need to be affordable. I also want them to link together like the wanted photo above, therefore I think I may need to meet with each member to see which colours would fit better with their wardrobe. Considering the hair element of my magazine I have decided that I want the hair to look well groomed and looked after, with possibly each participant in the group having a different style. Props: bands generally do not use props however therefore within the front cover of my magazine no props will be used. Colour and lighting: due to the nature of pop magazines I think that it would be best if I have bright lighting, therefore maybe doing the photos shoot outside or getting a spot light to reflect of the bands faces. Either way, I will edit the photos and change the balance Base of idea: Mid shot

Locations?

I have decided that my main image should be set on top a neutral background so I would have to take the photo on either a green screen or plain wall colour, so that the background in the photo can either be used as the main colour of my magazine, or that it can be cut out, this is because as I stated before I would like my magazine to be very simplistic so that the features such as the masthead and the image stand out more clearly.

What? I would like my artists to be looking directly at the camera, with a blank expression so that it shows no emotion. Therefore due to the female gaze, I think that this would attract my female audience that is intended

Mise en Scene

Hair makeup and costume: I would like my artists to wear clothes that look presentable however I do not want them to look to over the top because the main aim is for my target audience to want to be like them, so the clothes need to be affordable.

Either way, I will edit the photos and change the balance to make their faces more highlighted.

Base of idea: Mid shot

Photo Two

Locations?

Similarly to my first idea I defiantly want to keep the background of the image as minimal as possible, therefore I think that I should imitate a real photo shoot and possible use a green screen in order to create the most effective image.

What? In this image I would like the band to seem as if they are really good friends, therefore I would like the main singer in the middle, with each of the others doing their own individual pose to the camera, to show their unity.

Mise en Scene

Hair makeup and costume: If I decide to do a black and white shot then I think it would be very important to ensure that the band are only wearing black and white clothes, this will therefore make the black and white editing look more effective. Similar as my first ideas I would also like to ensure that the hair looks very presentable and smart and not scruffy, again with different styles.

Props: Again I do not want to use any props within the front cover of my magazine

Colour and lighting:

I have decided for the lighting element similarly to my first ideas I should use a bright light in order to emphasize the artists faces, on the other hand I like the one directions black and white image as it seems like colour correction has been used in order to make the white and black of the photo even brighter, therefore I may experiment with this to see if I can incorporate a black and white image on my front cover.

Base of idea: Wide/Long shot

Page 3: Shooting schedule (1)

Photo three

Locations? Similarly to the first two shots I will need a green screen in a spacious room. This is because the fun nature of the posing will need to be done in plenty of space otherwise there may be some risk issues.

What? For this shot I have decided that this shot would be fun and interesting for the audience, therefore I will have them all in different poses in order to show their different personality styles, for this shot the body language and facial expressions will be vital for a successful shot.

Mise en Scene

Hair makeup and costume: for this shot I would similarly like the costume to be very casual, such as jeans and a t-shirt, this is because this type of shot is very laid back therefore I would like the costume to portray this also.

Props: I will not be using any props for this shot.

Colour and lighting: Similarly to the other two front cover shots I would like the colours to be very bright and vibrant, therefore I will need a room that has lots of light or a spotlight to highlight the facial features of the artists.

Base of idea: the last idea I have for my front cover is a mid shot

Page 4: Shooting schedule (1)

Photo four

Locations? Again I would like this image on a plain background so that I can edit it onto another background, or use the existing.

What? This is another artist that would be included within the magazine, I have chosen to do a female character due to the fact that my artists are mainly focused on the female gaze, therefore I wanted to use a female that could be interpreted as a role model. Ideas I have for this image is the use of bubbles, I may get my artist to blow bubbles so that I can have this theme for the contents page,

Mise en Scene

Hair makeup and costume: The makeup in which is going to be used for this artist would be very minimal due to the fact that I do not want to promote that young girls should be wearing it. Also the costume in which the artist would be wearing would be what is in the fashion now due to the fact that I want the clothing to be recognizable to the audience.

Props: if I choose to go to with the idea of bubbles then I would need them as a prop, if not no props would be used again.

Colour and lighting: similarly to the other photos I have decided that I want the artists facial features highlighted therefore I would like a bright lighted room.

Base of idea: Mid shot of another artist

Page 5: Shooting schedule (1)

Photo five

Locations? Café or coffee shop or restaurant.

What? For this shot I would like another artist to be sat as if he was drinking a smoothie or milkshake in an interview style format, this is because I would like my magazine to have a range of different shot types.

Mise en Scene

Hair makeup and costume: again due to the fact the artist would be in a public setting I would like my actor to wear a hoodie jeans and a watch, so that they look casual within their environment.

Props: For props I would need to use either a cup or a container for the drink and either a straw or a spoon,

Colour and lighting: Very natural lighting, not much editing will be conducted for this shot as I want it to seem very real life,

Base of idea: Wide shot

Page 6: Shooting schedule (1)

Photo Six

Locations? I would like this shot to be within a dance studio, this is because I want this image to portray that the band have just done a successful rehearsal of their new music video.

What? I would like the main article to be an interview surrounding a new music video, therefore the image has to portray this, I want it to seem as if they are bundling each other due to the fact that they have finished filming,

Mise en Scene

Hair makeup and costume: again I would like the costume to be very casual with each member wearing either jeans and a t-shirt and cardigan or jeans and a shirt, so that the audience can relate to them.

Props: No props will be used.

Colour and lighting: I would like this picture to be very life like therefore I will not edit it from the background, I want the lighting and colours to be natural.

Base of idea: Wide shot

Page 7: Shooting schedule (1)

Photo Seven

Locations? I definitely need a green screen for this shot due to the fact that I would need to cut the editors picture onto a background to link with the colour scheme of the magazine.

What? I would just like a picture of myself to be looking side on to the camera like a school photo shot, again I would like to have bright lighting to highlight my facial features.

Mise en Scene

Hair makeup and costume: For this shot I would like to look very presentable but also casual, so I may wear a printed t-shirt with a blazer and jeans in order to convey this.

Props: No props will be needed within this shot

Colour and lighting: bright or natural lighting would be needed .

Base of idea: Editors image.

Page 8: Shooting schedule (1)

Photo Eight

Locations? For this shot I will need to use a hall in or a stage so that it looks as if they are at an award.

What? I want the artist to be looking directly at the audience and looking very happy that they will be receiving a award.

Mise en Scene

Hair makeup and costume: I would like this costume to be very smart, like suits and shoes, so that it corresponds with the intended nature of the image.

Props: No props will be needed.

Colour and lighting: I would like bright lighting to used to give the impression of a camera flash

Base of idea: long shot

Page 9: Shooting schedule (1)

Photo nine

Locations? I would like this to be set in a living room area or bedroom as this is the most chilled out setting.

What? I would like the band to be using props in order to show that they are very chilled and relaxed, this could either be through playing Xbox or on a mobile, its to symbolize the finished stage of their new video.

Mise en Scene

Hair makeup and costume: I want the costume to be as laid back as possible so they could possibly just wear chinos and a t shirt or jeans and a jumper, just to show that they are relaxed within the setting.

Props: Games consoles or mobile phones and headphone

Colour and lighting: Natural high level lighting the room needs to ensure that the lighting is natural but bright enough to take a good photgraph

Base of idea: promotional style shot, very chilled and relaxed

Page 10: Shooting schedule (1)

Photo Ten

Locations? Drama Studio or hall or sports hall ( needs to be a large area in which a green screen/white screen in place)

What? The band needs to be in front of the green screen posing as if they have just finished shooting, they need to be energetic and happy that they have done so.

Mise en Scene

Hair makeup and costume: I would like the costume to be very similar to the one used for the front cover of the magazine, (same sort of style) however maybe different colours.

Props: No props will be needed

Colour and lighting: the colour and lighting used is going to be very exaggerated with spotlights being on the band, I would also try to caputre some spot lights within the background if this is possible (light the image above)

Base of idea: Green screen and lighting

Location Possible Problems Risk Assessment

Drama Studio (Green Screen)

• It may be occupied • Need to learn how to use

the spotlights and lighting techniques

• Someone may trip over a bench or chair

• Will have to ensure that the room is not occupied • Have a member of staff available to help with lighting • Remove benches or cordon off an area

Café or restaurant • Busy with members of the public

• People may trip over tripod or camera bag

• Chose a time that is not usually very popular • Use a window seat • Stand with all equipment

Dance Studio • Mirrors are easily smashed

• Take photos with mirror in the background and stay away from them

• Ensure that the room is free to take photos

The school Hall • Has a large stage which someone may fall into or fall off

• There are many chairs around the edges of the room

• May be occupied

• Ensure that the band do not come too close to the edge or are messing around on the equipment

• Ensure the shot is taken no where near the chairs • Ensure the room is free to use

Living room • Has two glass tables • Not very much room

• Ensure that the tables are pushed out of the way of the sofa
