Feature Measurement ParametersArea: Feature Area : The total number of detected pixels within the feature.
Aspect Ratio : The ratio of Length divided by Breadth.
Breadth : The length of the shortest feret.
Convex Area: The area of the polygon circumscribing the feature, formed by tangents to its boundary.
Convex Perim: The length of the polygon circumscribing the feature, formed by tangents to its boundary. This is similar to the length of a piece of string stretched around the feature.
Curve Length: The length of the longest side of a rectangle having the same area and perimeter as the measured features.
Curve Width: The length of the shortest side of a rectangle having the same area and perimeter as the measured features.
Equivalent Diameter: Equivalent circle diameter i.e. the diameter of a circle having the same area as the feature.
Feret0: The length of the 0 degree feret. This corresponds to the horizontal width of the feature.
Feret45: The length of the 45 degree feret.
Feret90: The length of the 90 degree feret. This corresponds to the vertical height of the feature.Full Ratio: The fullness ratio- this is a shape factor, equal to the square root of the ratio of area to circumscribed area.
Perimeter: The total length of the boundary of the feature. This is calculated from the horizontal and vertical projections, with an allowance for the number of corners.
Roundness: A shape factor which gives a minimum value of unity for a circle. This is calculated from the ratio of perimeter squared to area.
Vertical Projection: The vertical projection of the feature- i.e. the number of the vertical chords in the feature.
