    Class Descriptions:

    Preschool (ages 2-4):

For preschool children who are not yet old enough to take co-op classes, we have an fantastic preschool program filled

with games, storytime, movement and sensory activities, music, free play, and other fun activities throughout the morning.

    A snack will be provided.

    Art (ages 5-6)

The goal of this class is to enjoy creating art, and at the same time learn about artists throughout the ages. We'll do some

drawing, some experiments with color, create some prints, and we'll throw in some crafts to round out the class. Art at

any age should be creative & fun. We want every child to leave this class having more knowledge of famous artists and

also looking forward to their next art adventure. Instructor: Janie Stvan

    Fun with Science (ages 5-6)

We will explore our five senses through fun hands on approach to science. We'll explore how each sense works and how

we use them, as young scientists, to explore our world! Some weeks we might get messy exploring, if you want to bring

in an extra bigger shirt/smock to put over their clothes. Instructors: Melanie Dempster and Lilli Komurek

    Indoor/Outdoor Games (ages 5-6)

Come play classic indoor games such as musical chairs, heads up 7-up, four corners, as well as board games with your

friends! When weather permits we will be playing lots of fun games outdoors! Tag games, Kickball, Tball, Fitness

stations, relay races and much more. Instructors: Corinne Covino & Melanie Dempster

    Training choir (ages 5-6):

This choir will be an easy transition for kids coming up from the preschool class (and will include the preschool class

children for the first 20 minutes) with a lot of songs with hand movements and easy lyrics. They will learn their scales and

hand signs and also join the other choirs singing in the concert on June 7th. We will not use music, but learn all our songs

by ear and repetition, sometimes using pictures and sign language. Instructors: Sabine Krantz and Rachel Casey

    Math Club (7-9)

This will be a fun, active class where children will explore different math concepts through games and group activities.

Whether the kids are building symmetrical snowflakes, exploring secret codes, using marshmallows to explore fractions

and decimals, or measuring such things as paper chains and circles the children will be up and about exploring math! Each

week, we'll complete an activity that focuses on one of the following math disciplines: Geometry, Number Sense,

Measurement, Algebra, Probability, and Data Analysis. Instructor: Anne DeCampo

    Science Experiments 7-9:

Every week we will focus on applying the scientific method, conducting experiments and drawing conclusions. Children

will get some background information about the concepts being explored for that week, and then they will conduct an

experiment related to those concepts and record their results. Experiments will give students a chance to explore the

different fields of science, including physics, chemistry and the life sciences. Building and measuring simple pendulums,

experimenting with magnets, creating Cartesian divers, and camouflaging paper moths are just some of the possibilitiesfor this class. Instructors: Anne De Campo and Shay Frankel

    Junior choir (ages 7-9)

We will start using music folders to learn our music, and learn to follow the melody line we're singing. Children don't

have to be great readers to do this, and can still learn the music by ear. This choir will keep learning scales and other

warm-up songs, learn about how to use their voices properly for singing, and prepare several songs to sing for the concert

on June 7th. There will be a variety of music, including funny songs, songs from Disney movies, songs based on famous

poetry and songs in other languages. Instructors: Sabine Krantz and Rachel Casey

    Lapbooking (ages 7-9)

Lapbooking can be done by any learner. It is an educational method composed of mini-books, maps, graphs, pictures etc.,

covering the details of a variety of topics. These items are put together in a large folder or lapbook. This fun approach

allows children to learn with ease and the finished project serves as a great review of the material. In this session we will

complete a literature, science, and history lapbook. The literature series will explore the bookIf the World Were a Village

by David J. Smith. The author discusses the languages, customs, education, and culture of the world by presenting the

whole world as a village of just 100 people. It provides a global perspective in a simple yet fascinating way. The science

lapbook will be on animal classifications with the last two weeks focusing on a history lapbook of the Oregon Trail. Allthe work will be completed in class. Instructor: Claudine Lujan

    Fine Arts (ages 7-9)

Explore drawing and painting with various medium including chalk and oil pastel, charcoal, watercolor, and acrylic

painting. Each week will include drawing from life with nature studies, animals, landscape, abstract design and more.

Color mixing will be taught, paint technique and brush care, and other drawing and painting techniques. Please bring a

smock or old t-shirt. Instructor: Michaeline Gleasman

    Arts and Crafts (ages 7-9)

In this class we'll be upcycling household items into fun and practical objects of art. Instructor: Caroline Brazeau

and in other languages. We will also sing in 2 and 3 parts to work on ear training. Instructors: Sabine Krantz and Rachel
