Pastor Mark Bryant

PastorI want to take another opportunity to say thank you to our church family for your

prayers, cards, emails, texts and Facebook responses when my dad went to be with the

Lord. It reminded me once again how incredible God is and how effective His plan is as

the body of Christ ministers in this life. I had lost my grandparents and some very close

friends through the years but losing a parent has been a very different experience. So

I want to say for myself, Tonda and the rest of my family, you have blessed us in many

different ways and words cannot describe how blessed we have been.

In retrospect, I have to say that this loss has given me a clearer understanding

regarding the Sermon Series that will begin in September. In June I was praying, ”Lord

show me what You want me to say”. In the days that followed there were two verses

that constantly came to my mind. (Colossians 3:2 and Matthew 25:34-46). The focus

of the series will be Next Level Living. We will listen to what the Word of God has to

say about Jesus influencing our lives so that we live at the next level.

I know that the summer break has been hectic, but I am praying that we will all get

back into the habit (a good habit) of gathering together to worship and study God’s

word. I want to remind you that we have adjusted the Sunday evening worship time.

We will begin worship Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm. This is an excellent opportunity

to be a part of another time of corporate worship. We will also be opening the

ROC after the evening services to play volleyball or basketball and to spend time

fellowshipping together. I am praying you will take advantage of this opportunity.

Last but not least, I want to share a brief word about our youth ministry. First, I want

to emphasize we have no plans to merge Middle School and High School youth

groups. That idea has never been a consideration. Heath will be providing leadership

and oversight for both youth groups as we prayerfully search for our next Middle

School Pastor. In this time of transition, we are encouraging parents in both divisions

to step up alongside of Heath and Karen to help them as we move ahead. Pray for

Heath and Karen as well as praying for the individual the Lord has already begun to

prepare for the middle school ministry.

Be Blessed! Mark
