‘Lee Cheol-jin’s Complete Piece of Buddhist Dance’ ‘Instrumental Solo’
Seungmu (Buddhist dance) is played by a dancer wearing
a white conical hat, Buddhist monk’s robe and red band.
This complete piece, handed down by Han Yeong-suk,
Korean Important Intangible Cultural No.27, is a
masculine dance likened to a straight and firm bamboo
tree.
It is known as one of the best pieces of traditional Korean
dance, and the noble beauty of the Buddhist monk’s robe
uplifts even the spirits of the viewers.
Solo performance of Haegeum, Daegeum, Gayageum
and Piri alternated every day to demonstrate the depth of
traditional Korean music and distinctive features of each
instrument.

Although it is a small basement theater with only about 70 seats, you can feel the special ambience of one of
Seoul’s old theaters here.

been given and buy side dishes at shops affiliated with
