Criteria for Promotion from 4N(A) to 5N(A)
• MOE has changed the criteria since 2009• They must now do well in a range of subjects

Additional Pathways for Sec 4N(A) ITE-Direct Entry Scheme (DES)
Sec 4N(A) students who do well (≤ 19 pts) for ELMAB3 with at least a grade 4 in Math and EL can enrol directly for a Higher Nitec course at ITE
Additional Pathways for Sec 4N(A) Polytechnic Foundation Programme
• Offered to the top 10% of the cohort with EMB3 11 points or better.
• English and Maths must be at least a B3 for eligibility into Engineering, Science and Technical related courses.
• At least a B2 in English for admission into Business courses.
Additional Pathways for Sec 4N(A) Direct-Entry-Scheme-to-Polytechnic
• Builds on the ITE Direct-Entry-Scheme (DES) which was introduced in 2008.
• It caters to students in the top 10th-percentile to 30th percentile of the Sec 4N(A) cohort, i.e. the 20% after the top 10% qualifying to apply for the Polytechnic FP.
• Need to obtain an ELMAB3 (English, Math, Best 3 Subjects) raw aggregate score of 19 points or better
• In addition, the EL ≤ 4 and MA ≤ 4, to be eligible to apply to Applied Sciences, Engineering and Info-Communications Technology programmes.
• To apply to Business and Services, the eligibility is EL ≤ 3 and MA ≤ 4.
Admission Criteria to ITE NITEC Courses
• Each course has different entry requirements• Admission is merit-based, and based on aggregate of best 4 N level subjects including pre-requisite subjects

Pathways for Sec 4N(T) students
Sec 4N(T) students may be considered for a lateral transfer to Sec 4N(A) if they meet the following criteria in their Sec 4 NT exam:
• Grade A for both EL and MA + Grade B or better for one other subject
