THE STORY OF GLOBAL WARMING

• Global Warming has become a threat to everything on earth. The green house effect has made global warming. Global warming is the warming of air because of heat being trapped on earth. This is happening because we are destroying our tropical rain forests and making more factories. By doing that carbon dioxide is increasing in the atmosphere.

• The sun's rays are coming through the layer of CO2 but the heat can't go through it. This is why the heat is being trapped on earth and making Earth warmer. And that has made the temperatures of the world are increase day by day. The weather pattern is changing. The polar ice caps are melting and this might cause the flooding of huge areas of the globe. The lower southern part of America may go under water one day. We should prevent global warming and save our only home.

WE CAN STOP GLOBAL WARMING BY

• Carpooling

• Getting solar panels

• Getting a hybrid or electric car

• Buy energy star appliances

These are some things that we can do to

prevent global warming

RECOMMENDATION #1

• We need to get solar panels on buildings to reduce Nashville's carbon footprint.

CHALLENGES

• One of the challenges for the first recommendation is trying to persuade the home owners to get solar panels and to find the money to get the solar panels.

RECOMMENDATION #2

• We need MORE people to ride buses so we can have a reason to get a new kind of bus and make there be more bus stops

• We need the buses to be changed to hybrid or electric buses

CHALLENGES

• One of the challenges to the second recommendation is buying the buses or solar panels and making new bus routes to go farther.

RECOMMENDATION #3

• Get houses to change all of most of their appliances to energy star

CHALLENGES

• Some of the challenges to the third recommendation is getting the homeowners to buy the energy star appliances.

ABSTRACT

We chose this topic because we wanted to tell not just Meigs or Metro schools but all of Nashville how we can reduce our carbon footprint. We learned about different ways that people could be "greener" in class and outside of school, but we want everyone to know what we are doing to the earth. If everyone knows then someone aught to do something about it.

Then we did most of our research on the iPad we found some good websites and documentorys that had some really good facts. We also used our science textbook to learn about global warming. We also got some pictures and videos for our primary sources. We went to our teachers website and found some links for our research.

We selected a Keynote because we thought that it would make our project look good. We also already knew how to use a keynote from before. We worked together over the weekends to get our project together, we also worked at school when we had free time in class.

Our project relates to the real world because it is supposed to show what people have done to the earth and how they can fix it. Because if you use solar panels then you don't use any fossil fuels which means no pollution. And no pollution means no global warming so why doesn't everybody buy solar panels? Because the oil sellers don't care they just want money they do not care about the earth and that is sad. We need to do something about it, so why wait?

Why don't we stop global
