The School Captains and the Year 5 SRC members attended the Forum on behalf of TRBPS. The students attended a variety of workshops to discuss the issues of bullying, wellbeing, friendships and cyber bullying. This forum provided students with an opportunity to actively participate in raising awareness in the local community around the issue of bullying. Students were given time to discuss and brainstorm strategies that can be used to address bullying in schools and the local community. This forum was hosted by the Bayside Mayor Felicity Frederico and students listened to and worked with various expert guest speakers, including ‘Project Rocket’. Students gathered ideas and strategies that they can use to promote positive behaviours back at their school and to take a stand against bullying. The students really enjoyed the day and are currently writing their own reflections which will feature in next week’s newsletter. Levelled Literacy Intervention (LLI) news and Maternity leave. On behalf of the school community I would like to wish Mrs Hope Ahern and

her husband Brent our very best wishes for the impending birth of their first

child. Hope’s final day at TRBPS will be August 7. We wish both Brent and

Hope great excitement and congratulations as they enter the next phase in their

life as parents. Best wishes Hope for the future!

The LLI program will continue to be implemented by Mrs Leonie Wallis; a

past teacher of TRBPS who has been on Family Leave. Leonie will be

working part time and will ensure that this program continues to be

implemented effectively for the remainder of the term. Leonie will work

closely with Mrs Ahern and Mrs Mehl to learn all about this literacy support

program and understand where the students are placed so she can continue to

assist their literacy progress. If you have any concerns please contact Mrs

Marie Chalas to discuss your child’s needs. Welcome back Leonie!

Have a great week!

Woolworths Earn & Learn is back! We are excited to be taking part in the Woolworths Earn & Learn program. You can help our school by collecting Woolworths Earn & Learn Points. Just collect Woolworths Earn & Learn Points when you shop at Woolworths between Wednesday 15th July and Tuesday 8th September 2015. We will redeem these for awesome educational resources for our school.

Simply stick the stickers onto a Woolworths Earn & Learn Points sheet and once it's completed, just bring it back to school and drop it in the collection box in the main office, or drop it into the Tucker Road Primary School collection box at your local Woolworths store. The more we collect, the more we can redeem. There are thousands of products available through the Woolworths Earn & Learn program, and we'd like to get lots of new gear! Products in the range include resources for mathematics, English, science, art & crafts, sports gear, library supplies and more. We are grateful for your support and look forward to a successful program. If you have any questions, please ask at school.
