parent/guardian (a photo copy of the cover page is
permitted). Must be: well thought out/creative, original
and reflect personal experiences or observations; well-
written with attention to grammar, spelling and
punctuation; references that pertain to the point or

Patterson Chambers Scholarship
AKOMA African American Women's Gospel Choir
provides scholarship assistance to college bound African
American women graduating in June 2019 from a high
school in the Greater Rochester area, attending college in
September 2019, and involved in extra-curricular school
and church activites.
Please note a personal interview is required. The
scholarships will be awarded on Saturday, June 8, 2019
at the annual concert and all recipients must be present.

This award will recognize students whose activities while

reflect the values, goals, and areas of interest advanced by
Mr. Gordon during his lifetime. These may include, but
are not limited to:
-Outstanding participation in activities furthering the goal
of improved human relations in the school community

America Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded by the Hearing Loss
Association of America, Rochester Chapter to Greater
Rochester area high school seniors with hearing loss who
are pursuing post-secondary education or vocational
training. Students must have applied to enter their first
year of post-secondary education or vocational training
and be between the ages of 17 and 20 and have
documented hearing loss.

Tuition Scholarship
This four-year tuition scholarship is awarded to full-time
students who have been high achievers in a rigorous
program of secondary-school studies. Annual awards
range in amount from $18,000 to $30,000.
All National Honor Society and Cum Laude Society
members who are admitted to Washington College are
awarded a Washington College Academic Tuition
Scholarship of at least $18,000 annually for up to four
years. To qualify, students must be NHS or CLS
members at the time of admission to the College. Merit-
based tuition scholarships and tuition grants are awarded
by the Washington College Scholarship Committee to
full-time accepted undergraduate applicants without
regard to financial need. In all cases, it is advantageous to
complete the requirements for admission in advance of
the February 15 application deadline. Unless otherwise
noted, annual renewal requires full-time enrollment and a

Communications, or TV and Radio Broadcasting. Must
have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must be attending a
Rochester area college. Applicants must demonstrate the
qualities of good citizenship, scholarship and
commitment to advancing public understanding of issues

oriented organization consisting of 100,000
predominately African-American women.
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on
scholastic aptitude, academic performance, community
involvement, extracurricular activities, demonstrated
leadership skills, and essay responses.
Applicants must plan to attend an accredited college or
university in the 2019-2020 school year; possess a
cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above;
demonstrate being a responsible, positive, self-
disciplined, and respectful individual, who has drive,
perseverance and determination towards academic
attainment.
