Dolly Banzon Artistic Director, Choreographer, Scriptwriter, ProducerSayaw Pilipinas!
Dolly Banzon hails from Davao City, in the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. She was one of the rst High School graduates of the prestigious Philippine Womens College of Davao, now a university.
As a youngster and teenager, she had performed in several concerts and produc-tions, dancing lead roles in Swan Lake, Les Sylphides, Giselle and others. Dancing was momentarily taken over by her studies at the University of the Philippines where she worked towards her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, minoring in Speech and Drama. Meanwhile, watching others present their native dances in cultural shows in the Philippines and abroad, Dolly thought that the Philippines had much, much more to oer because of its cultural diversity. She realized then the tremendous wealth in culture that the Philippines had amassed because of her history.
It was not until she came to Colorado that she became serious about presenting the true Filipino heritage through dance. She started to elevate the simple folk dancing to one that is highly stylized, yet culturally faithful. But her main aim was to share with the Filipino youth their heritage so that they may develop a better understanding and tolerance of it.
With that focus, Dolly has devoted the past 20 years to producing, directing and scriptwriting major productions for the Filipino communities in Colorado includ-ing: Fiesta Pilipino, Pista Sa Nayon, Pagdiriwang, Ibong Adarna, Kalayaan Centen-nial Celebration, Indak, Pilipino! and Evening of Filipino Attire Fashion Show. Her eorts were gratied with prestigious awards as One of the Six Most Outstand-ing Asian Women of Colorado in 1994, in the eld of Arts and Culture and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Philippine Heritage Foundation
Dolly says that when she could no longer teach dance, she would be around to give support as a resource person and give encouragement to those who are willing to pick up where she left o.
The family of Feliza and Ignacio Pasion wishes to congratulate PASCO for its presentation of SAYAW PILIPINAS! We salute the hard work and the dedication of all the performers, support staff and
everyone who contributed in making this performance possible. We appreciate PASCOs dedication to showcase the beautiful heritage of our Filipino culture and to offer the opportunity to our
children and grandchildren to share their talents to the community. To our children, Julius and Judy and to our grandchildren Jessica, Jennifer and Erin, we are so proud of you!

To all our guests and members, greetings!
After two successful and highly acclaimed productions in 2002
of INDAK PILIPINO! and the 2003 fashion show, GABI ng
KASUOTANG PILIPINO, I personally did not think that we still
have the energy left to embark on another major project this
year. But, the executive board of the PHILIPPINE AMERICAN
SOCIETY OF COLORADO (PASCO) is very much committed to
the goal of raising funds for our future Cultural Center.
The talents that abound within the community and the com-
prehensive plan for a full-scale cultural program in all art
forms - especially the performing and the visual arts - will
support the Cultural Center that we have all envisioned for the
longest time and now almost within our reach.
What you will witness tonight is the product of the countless
hours of hard work and dedication of our performers and sup-
port staff especially our Artistic director, Mrs. Dolly Banzon.
Thank you for unselshly giving up most of your weekends
over the summer to be a part of this production
I like to thank all of you for being here tonight to lend us your
support. Let us experience of the glimpse of the richness of
our history and culture through our dance and our music.
Please enjoy the show!
Sincerely,
Edith Pasion, PresidentPhilippine American Society of Colorado
