Alas! and did my Savior bleed, and did my Sovereign die? Would He devote that sacred headFor sinners such as I? Was it for crimes that I have done, He groaned upon the tree? Amazing pity! grace unknown! And love beyond degree! Well might the sun in darkness hide and shut his glories in, When Christ, the mighty Maker died for man the creature’s sin. us might I hide my blushing face

while His dear cross appears; Dissolve my heart in thankfulness, and melt my eyes with tears. But drops of grief can ne’er repay the debt of love I owe. Here, Lord, I give myself away; ‘tis all that I can do.

WARM UpSUNDAY

Cold weather is right around the corner. Let’s make sure our neighbors have warm winter clothes. We invite you to donate new or gently used warm clothing in all sizes – coats, jackets, sweaters, gloves, caps, scarves, socks, blankets, etc. – in good condi-tion. Bring items on Sunday September 23 before worship and place them in one of the bins. Bins are available in the portico where items can be left in advance.

Meet in Fellowship Hall Sunday, Septem-ber 23, at 10:30 a.m. if you’d like to help sort and compile the donations for local missions.

The Trustees approved the sealcoat and striping of the parking lot on the north side of the building as part of routine mainte-nance. With the addition of new space, our Facilities Management Team – staff and Trustees – initiated an improved scheduled maintenance plan to keep all of the build-ings and parking lots in good condition.

UNDERBRUSH CLEARING The Building Committee is clearing the undergrowth on the north side of our parking lot to prepare the ground for fenced green space. The fencing will be installed in 2019, but the prep work is underway now.

Memory Café has a new name! We have changed the name of our group to Memories Café because, while our focus is to be a social outlet for persons with dementia and their caregivers, we realized that much of our time together is spent discussing histories and family memories from years gone by. We typically have a topic for each meeting, but it is only a suggestion and conversations frequently go in other directions. If you, or someone you know, would like to join us, we meet the 4th Thursday of each month, beginning September 27, at 10 a.m. in room 103. Feel free to come late or leave early. All are welcome. For more information, call Janet Ballard (770-490-4005).
