1 Release Highlights
The following new features and capabilities have been added to this latest version of SAP Jam Communities. Instructions on how to use each feature are available in the SAP Jam Communities documentation located on the SAP Help Portal.
NoteThe release will be available in production starting on Friday, February 15, 2019. All SAP Jam Communities documentation including this document is subject to minor daily updates until Friday, March 8, 2019. Further updates may occur after that date on an as-needed basis.
The following are just a few highlights for this release:
Import and export home pages
Community administrators can now easily copy most page design and content between tenants to reduce the need for page designers to recreate widget content, widget properties, and home page repository content referenced by widgets. Learn more [page 7].
Import and export groups
To save time and facilitate an easy transition with less re-creation of work, community administrators can now easily copy most groups and group content between tenants. Learn more [page 9].
Leaderboards with Badgeville gamification
To display the level of engagement ranking for users, as a community administrator you can display a leaderboard widget on the community home page to show a list of the top contributing community participants. Learn more about the leaderboard [page 14] display and widget [page 16].
Knowledge base articles and templates
The community knowledge base landing page has been visually enhanced to display recommended and recent knowledge base articles. Advanced search capability also appears at the top of the page. Learn more [page 10].

Poll widget
To increase awareness and visibility of a poll, administrators can now add a poll widget to a community home page or group page that references an existing poll created within the community or group. Learn more [page 16].
Search results
To improve speed and relevancy, when entering quick search criteria in the global search bar, the top results are now organized into categories. Learn more [page 16].
1.1 Accessibility support
As per Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), the following enhancements have been made to SAP Jam Communities to help satisfy critical requirements to achieve compliance with section 508. Government and public agencies that require adherence to the guidelines can now ensure that their employees with disabilities have a productive experience with SAP Jam Communities.

Backward navigation ● Pressing Shift + Tab when navigating backwards through content now works as expected.
Buttons ● When navigating group content, the Comments and Show More buttons now display with a visible element to explain their purpose.
● The button tabbing order on group pages moves from left to right as expected.
Calendar ● The tab focus now works as expected when creating a new event and selecting a date using the Enter key.
● The screen reader now correctly reads actions such as Next and Previous when accessing the calendar.
Content rating ● The content rating pop up is now activated when tabbed to via keyboard as expected.
Events ● When you delete an event category (by clicking the Trash icon), focus remains on the category section.
● Selecting and unselecting categories via keyboard now works as expected.● The category dropdown now provides an alternative tool tip to define its purpose.● The time zone label is now read when accessing the time zone combo box.● You can now select a time from the time dropdown using the keyboard.
Rich text editor for forums ● When navigating through edit mode for forum topics, keyboard controls are now able to access menu items such as the bullet list format from the rich text editor as expected.
● When using the rich text editor, how to navigate between toolbar items is read aloud by the screen reader as expected.

Item count for listed items ● The item count for a list of images is now correctly read by the screen reader.
Links ● Hyperlinks throughout the user interface appears as links rather than text, as expected.
Text color contrast ● Color contrast has been corrected for text that indicates how long ago an item was posted.
1.2 APIs
To support your requirements in developing custom integrations to your community, SAP Jam Communities now includes a set of APIs and documentation.
1.3 Branding
There are many options available for community administrators to customize the style and support options for their SAP Jam Communities application.
Please refer to the Web branding topic in the SAP Jam Communities Administration Guide for more information on how to configure branding.

Feature Description
Font support ● As a community administrator responsible for setting a consistent community brand, you can now set a default font, upload a custom font, or choose from up to 30 standard fonts and apply them to group overview tabs, group widget titles, or home page widget titles.

In the SAP Jam Communities Admin console, under the Product Setup menu, "Custom Home Page" has been renamed to "Home Page Management."

1.5 Forums
Community participants can ask and answer questions in forums that are used to group Q and As.

Rich text editor ● The height of the entry text box for the rich text editor has been reduced so that the action buttons that appear below the editor are more readily visible.
1.6 Import and export home pages
To facilitate content creation and page design between tenants, administrators can now import and export home pages without the need for page designers to manually recreate everything from the beginning.

Import and export ● In the SAP Jam Communities Admin console under the new Product Setup Home Page
Management Import and Export Home Page tab, as a community administrator you can now import or export home pages and home page content between tenants. Files are in .zip file format.
NoteBefore you import content, be sure to○ Back up any content you may need for future use.○ Check that every content creator's user account permissions match between
source and destination tenants.
● When you import a home page and its content, the following information displays on the Import tab:○ Imported file name and home page names○ Date and time of the import○ Status (for example: In progress, Import Completed)
● NoteHistorical versions, drafts, and items that are already in the trash are not exported or imported.

Feature Description
Import function ● As a community administrator, when you want to import a zipped file containing home pages
and its content items from another tenant, go to Product Setup Home Page
Management Import and Export Home Page tab and on the Import tab, click Import Home Page. Select the zip file from your computer that you want to import to your current tenant. By default, the zip file will be uploaded to top level folder.
● For pages and items that exist in both the zip file and the target tenant, tenant content will be moved to the trash before the zip content is imported. For example, if "budget.xls" is in the zip file and "budget.xls" also exists in the target tenant, then "budget.xls" from the target tenant will be moved to the trash before "budget.xls" from the zip file is imported.
Export function ● As a community administrator, when you want to export a zipped file containing home pages
from a tenant, go to Product Setup Home Page Management Import and Export Home
Page tab and on the Export tab, click Export Home Page. From the Export tab view, select the home pages that you want to export from your current tenant.
● All home page items in the repository are automatically included in the exported zip.
Limitations Only the following content types and features are supported with the import/copy:
● Content:○ Folders○ Blog posts○ Documents (for example: .txt, .docx, .xlsx files)○ Links○ Images○ Videos (mp4 files only)○ Polls (without voting results)○ Wiki pages○ Tags

1.7 Import and export groups
Community administrators can import and export content and overview pages between tenants in SAP Jam Communities.

Import and export ● In the SAP Jam Communities Admin console under the new Product Setup Group
Management Import and Export Group tab, as a community administrator you can now import or export groups and group content between tenants. Files are in .zip file format.

1.8 Knowledge base
Service agents and managers can use knowledge base articles to find the right information required by a customer at the right time, reducing call handle time, improving operational efficiencies, increasing customer engagement, and reducing labor costs.

Knowledge base articles and templates
Feature Description
Community knowledge base page
● When visiting the knowledge base page for a community, you will now see a new Search bar with advanced search capabilities and lists of recommended and recently updated articles to help you quickly access relevant information. Each tile includes the name of the article, the group the article was authored in, the name of the knowledge base author or who last updated it, when it was last updated, number of likes and views, a content rating, and any categories it may be assigned to.

browse through all articles.● As you enter search criteria in the Search bar, auto complete suggestions will appear in
a dropdown list.● You can expand the Advanced search area to search for knowledge base articles by au
thor name, group name, hashtag, selected category, or time frame.

categories to help refine your search. Selected categories will display below the Filter by Category button.

Category filter for groups ● When filtering by categories in a group's Knowledge Base page, only the categories applied to the group's articles will display in the filter.
● When articles are created, the entire list of categories are available to assign to that article, to support new ways of categorization.
Recommended knowledge base articles
● Recommended knowledge base articles display with configured thumbnail images and metadata such as the author name, the name of the group where the article originated, when it was last updated or published, number of likes, number of views, content rating, the names of categories it can be searched by, and a snippet of the knowledge base article.
● Knowledge base articles are recommended based on content you have recently viewed.
Embeddable knowledge base widget
● The embeddable knowledge base widget is a customizable widget that can be embedded in UI5 compatible SAP applications to provide in-context access to relevant knowledge.
● It can support knowledge base articles and other content types such as wiki pages and documents.
● As an administrator, you can customize the widget size, columns, sort options, and labels.

● As a knowledge base template creator, you can now add text, multimedia, and images that are static and cannot be removed or edited by knowledge base article authors.

1.9 Leaderboards with Badgeville gamification
Leaderboards show top achievement levels of community participation by individual members on a ranked list. Based on the success of other users, members can compare each others achievements and find motivation in further community participation.

Profile page ● On your member profile page, you can view your achievement level, leaderboard rank (by total number of points), and progress towards rewards (previously referred to as "badges") and mission completion.○ The Rewards section displays progress towards "stand-alone" rewards. These are rewards
that are not defined as part of any mission.○ The Missions section displays progress towards all available missions. A mission can have
multiple rewards.○ Only simple rewards are supported (a reward containing single behavior criterion).
Badgeville integration: Profile page with achievements● On the Achievements section of a profile page, a mission can be filtered to show all its contained
rewards, those in progress, or those completed.● Users can click on View all Rewards and Missions to view a list of all the rewards they can earn
when they participate and complete actions and view the progress of reward achievement within each mission. The steps required to achieve each goal are also listed.

Hover card ● When you view the hover card for a community member, you can see their achievement level with number of points earned in brackets, and their number of completed missions.
1.10 Reports
SAP Jam Communities reports display adoption metrics including user contribution and consumption activity. On the SAP Jam Communities Admin console > Analytics > Reports page, select the report you want from the dropdown list. For larger reports, you can leave the page while it completes processing. Once the report is ready to view, you can then upload the csv file to an analytics software and work with the data there. Most reports are available to group administrators for group-specific data.

Questions report ● As a group or community administrator, you can now view a list of all the answered and unanswered questions that exist in a group by a specified date range. 1.11 Search results
Search results can be sorted by relevance and date. Search terms are highlighted in the search results for all content types. An item's original author name, along with any subsequent editor or contributor’s names will appear along with the search result item.

● To improve speed and relevancy, when entering quick search criteria in the global search bar, the top results are now organized into categories (for example: Content, People, Forums), with a maximum of three results per category, and up to a maximum of 10 results overall. User can click View all (by category) to see the results for a specific category or View all at the bottom of the dropdown to see a list of all the returned results.
Search support for keywords ● Support has been added for keyword searches that include:○ diacritic spelling○ underscore characters○ words split into subwords by intra-word delimiters, case transitions, letter-
number transitions, removal of trailing 's' for each subword, and removal of leading and trailing intra-word delimiters on each subword.
1.12 Widgets
Widgets are containers for a variety of information such as multimedia, slides, content, and more. When you add a widget, you are specifying that a section, whether for group overview pages or custom community home pages, contain some particular content. You can insert, remove, edit, and reposition widgets as needed.

Visual display for content, knowledge base, and forum widgets
● In the SAP Jam Communities Admin console under Product Setup Features , you can enable the Enhanced widget styling and page layout option so that all home page and group overview widgets display with better usage of available screen space and improved carousel and gallery layouts. Some user avatars may be removed.
● Content, forum, and knowledge base widgets display with bolded item titles, two line descriptions, and attention to item type.
● The avatars of the those who made the most recent updates have been removed from the Content widget.
● The avatar of the person who last updated a forum topic is included in the forum widget.

Leaderboard widget with Badgeville integration
● As a community administrator you can display a pre-configured Badgeville leaderboard widget on the community home page to show a list of the top contributing community participants. The leaderboard can be configured with the following filters:○ Time frame: All Time, Monthly, Weekly, Daily○ Scores based on: Points or Activities○ Maximum number of participants to display
● You can choose a leaderboard that reflects points based on how you have configured the Badgeville system.
● You can choose to display up to a maximum of 25 people in the leaderboard based on points, behaviors, or earned rewards.

Slideshow widget ● In addition to Microsoft PowerPoint files, the slideshow widget now supports the PDF file format. This allows community users to quickly navigate (for example: using left and right buttons or specific go-to page) each page of a PDF without drilling into a full detail view.

Tag cloud widget ● When adding a tag cloud widget to the group or community home page, you can now apply a new filter that includes up to 200 tags and excludes up to 200 tags.

2 Feature deprecation
The following section lists the features that have begun deprecation in this release, will be fully deprecated in the next release, or are retired as of this release. When a feature is deprecated, enhancements to it cease and customers are advised not to use the feature.

Optimize page layout ● The Optimize Page Layout toggle used for editing a home page has been deprecated. In a future release of SAP Jam Communities, the toggle will be removed and all existing and new home pages will always be optimized.

All features in this SAP Jam Communities release will be available to customers working with the preview release starting on Friday, February 15, 2019. The release will be available in production starting on Friday, March 8, 2019.
All SAP Jam Communities documentation will be subject to ongoing updates for this release, with production-ready versions posted in March 2019. Please check the SAP Help Portal for your latest version of the product documentation.
