INTRODUCTION

As part of a regional reverse-circulation overburden drilling program,

two holes were drilled on claim P.700866. The claim is situated in

the centre of Ogden Township, near Timmins, Ontario. The two holes

are being filed to meet assessment requirements.

LOCATION AND ACCESS

The single claim P.700866 is situated in the central portion of Ogden

Township, near the Mountjoy River. Access is by a gravel road west

of Pine Street South, Timmins, to the Mountjoy River, 200 metres west

of the river where the road splits, the southerly road passes near

the f2 post of the claim. Claim location and holes are shown on Map

1, back pocket.

DRILLING PROGRAM

The two holes drilled were drilled on October 29, 1985 and are numbered

332 and 333. An explanation of the reverse-circulation drilling method

is given in Appendix I.

Cummulative footage for the two holes was 73'. Claim P.700866 is a

narrow "wedge shaped" claim and the holes were drilled 425m apart (Map

2). The easterly hole was 23' in depth and the westerly hole was 50*

in depth. In both holes, a thin layer of pebble till 1-2* thick was

encountered immediately over bedrock. The remainder of the overburden

was clay and organic material. Logs of the drill holes with graphic

sections are included in Appendix II.

Assessment work to be applied to claim P.700866 under section 77(19)

of the Mining Act. Total expanditures S1,139.12 divided by Sl57day

equals 75.9 days maximum permisable - 60 days.

RESULTS

Samples of the till recovered in each hole were sent to overburden

Drilling Management for the preparation of a heavy mineral concentrate.

No visible gold was noted, assays of the concentrate were 50 and 195

ppb respectively. The absence of any significant thickness of till

units limits and interpretational value of assays obtained. No further

reverse-circulation drilling on the small claim is warranted.

REVERSE CIRCULATION DRILLING METHOD

APPENDIX I

REVERSE CTRCOIAnCN OVERBURDEN GRILLING;

The drilling equipment utilized consisted of a

hydraulic drill mounted in anenclosed sloop. Water required

for drilling was supplied by a J5 Muskeg tractor skidder

equiped with a 500 gal. water tank. Sample return is

achieved by forcing water and if necessary compressed air

down the outer wall of a 7cm dia., 3 meter long dual-tube

drill rod to a tricone bit, rock cuttings and overburden

material is forced up the centre of the rods to a cyclone

collector where sampes are screened, logged and sampled. A

10 mesh Tyler screen is used to separate coarse rock chips

or pebbles during the logging process. Approximately 50% of

the coarse chips are returned to the bucket, the remainder

is discarded. Any clay encountered is usually discarded.

Samples are collected at intervals of l to 2 meters

depending on material encountered. All samples other than

clay are kept, with generally only the coarse gravel/till

units sent for processing. A skematic illustration of the

drilling melthod is given in Figure 1.

LABORATORY PROCESSING OF SftMPUES;

All tills/gravels are sent to Overburden Drill

Management for processing. At the lab, samples are passed

through a 10 mesh screen, the -10 mesh fraction is then

passed over a shaking table where a gold grain count is made

and a liberal portion of the heavy minerals are separated

for heavy liquid separation using Methylene Iodide SG 3.3.

The fracture >SG 3.3 is dried, the magnetic fraction is

separated and a 3/4 split of the remaining material is sent

for assay. A portion of the bedrock chips are sent directly

to an assay lab for an Au, Ag assay.
