PLEASE PRAY FOR THE SICK
To add someone to the prayer list each
week in the bulletin, please call the parish
office. If you would like someone to be
prayed for by our prayer chain, go to
joanofarc.org and click on “Prayer Request”.
PERPETUATE THE GIFT
Support our diocesan
priests’ retirement fund. So
many of our retired priests,
like Fr. Marty Nassr, who
celebrates our Monday
morning Masses, still help
out with Masses and confessions all around
the diocese, and we are most grateful!
Please offer your gratitude for those who
faithfully served the Diocese of Toledo by
donating to the Perpetuate the Gift Appeal.
All funds contributed between September 18
through December 31, 2021, assist our par-
ish in its assessed contribution to the fund.
A gift of cash or check can be sent to Perpet-
uate the Gift, PO Box 954, Toledo, OH
43697, or placed in the parish collection.
There are envelopes on the welcome table
for this collection.
A gift may also be made online by click-
ing on the give tab at toledodiocese.org
DEAR FRIENDS,
Rome has been a great experience for me as I begin my studies. I
have had time to look forward to the things that I will be learning -
- and there's more to learn here than just my classes! -- and I’ve
looked back at the many blessings that I have had leading up to
my time here. One of these great blessings has been the commu-
nity at St. Joan of Arc, which has treated me so well from the time
of my discernment up until now. It is with great gratitude that I
can say that I am a son of the parish, and as I move forward in my
studies I will remember you in my prayers.
To be in the heart of the Church is such a blessing! From seeing
St. Peter's outside my window, going on short runs around Vatican
City or visiting the countless other historical churches here, I am
continually reminded of the beauty of a universal Church. There
are Christians from all around the world here, and an essential
reason why men are sent here is so that we can learn about the
strong bands that tie us together. To be a Catholic is to be a mem-
ber of a worldwide community.
Being in Rome also places me within the history of the Church.
Half of the twelve apostles are buried here. We may be separated
from them by a little bit of space and time, but they are always
serving as witnesses to the gospel message that was handed
down to them from Jesus himself. Many other saints are buried in
Rome, and there seems to be another one around every corner.
My daily life here will soon be full, as I start the semester. I have
been learning a little Italian for the past couple of months be-
cause most of my classes will actually be in Italian. It will be quite
the adjustment, but with your prayers it will be all right!
At the end of the day, I love the opportunity that I am given to be
here in Rome. Discerning the priesthood is both a sacrifice and
an adventure. Thank you for always being a part of that adventure
for me and for the many ways in which you have supported me.

SCHOOL NEWS
SJA School has the following positions
open:
4
th
/5
th
Grade Science Teacher: Full-time
position with full benefits.
Art Teacher: This can be a full-time or part-
time position where you have some free-
dom choosing the days and hours you can
work.
Both positions require a bachelor’s de-
gree in the field that you will teach. The de-
gree does not need to be in education; just
bring a love for children and a passion for
the subject matter. This is a great way to
serve our Lord in a fantastic setting where
your own faith will grow. Please ask family/
friends if they would like to join our wonder-
ful family of Warriors. Anyone interested in
more details should call our school office at
(419) 866-6177.
Good Shepherd Program Catechist: Do you
love your catholic faith? Would you like to
teach children to fall in love with Jesus and
their faith? The Good Shepherd program
requires a person who has 10 hours a week
to spare, evangelizing our preschool-1st
graders. There is a course you take which
shows you exactly what and how to
teach. This course can be taken on-
line. We have all the extras as this is a
hands-on learning experience. Days/times
are negotiable and can be done over 2-3
days if desired. Pay is $15 per
hour. Please call the school office if inter-
ested in The Good Shepherd Program at
(419) 866-6177 for more information.
Current Warrior in need of Mary: One of our
first grade teachers needs a statue of our
Lady. Do you have a gently used statue of
our Blessed Mother (medium-sized) that
you could donate to this classroom to be
loved and adored? If so, please drop the
statue off at the church or school office and
let someone know that it is for 1A. Or you
can get it to me and I will make sure this
teacher gets our Lady of the most Holy Ro-
sary ASAP. (My name is Angie Kin-
sey: (419) 878-2927.) Thanks again!
