    ROLLER ON ROLLER TRIBOMETER

Materials and lubricants usually work in environments which involve complex surface interactions. Movements, speeds and loads encountered by surfaces and lubri-cants during use are diverse and challenging to study.

The Roller on Roller Tribometer is intended for friction and wear evaluations of materials and lubricants that operate under roll and slide conditions as seen in gears, rail roads and other such applications. With two servo controlled drives, this system is capable of performing tribological tests in pure sliding to rolling contact tests.

With the choice of a variety of sample adapters, users can perform a variety of tests as shown in Figure 2. A fully computer controlled machine control and data ac-quisition software allows test programming and acquisi-tion and reporting of results with ease.

Users can define percentage of slip and roll. The unique servo controlled drives allow precise and control over test speeds and directions. Options of temperature con-trol and automated loading enhance testing capabilities.

    ROLLER ON ROLLER TRIBOMETER

Lubrication feeder system for lubricated wear and friction studies.

Grease feeder system for grease lubricated wear and friction studies.

High temperature module (up to 120 Deg C) for heating lubricant reservoir.

CCD based image acquisition system for sample imaging and reporting

3D Optical Profilometer for post test analysis

    Options

Numerous options are offered to enhance capability of basic tribometer. Some of the provisions are:

WinDucom 2010 is a proprietary integrated machine control, data acquisition and post processing software. It has four modules:

    Machine control

The Roller on Roller Tribometer uses the WinDucom software on a Windows operating system. The PC controls the test

sequence on the machine based on the prameters entered by the user. Sample related information can be fed into the

software at the start of the test for documentation and reporting purposes.

    Data Acquisition System

WinDucom acquires rotational speed, wear, temperature and number of revolutions. Friction force, sliding speed, sliding distance and test duration is also displayed. The Data Acquisition System allows the flexibility to present the data in sev-eral ways. Graphs of individual test can be printed and results of up to four tests can be superimposed for comparative viewing using the CompariView module. Data can be exported to other software like MS-Excel in ASCII format.

    Post processing

Acquired data can be presented in several ways:

View test results of any test run

View parameters of up to 4 different tests together for comparison

Export acquired data in ASCII to other software

    Machine control and data acquisition
