Happy New Year! I hope everyone

had a great break and enjoyed time

with family. It’s hard to believe we

are half way through the 18-19

school year already! In the first

few days, back our teachers have

worked with students to develop

goals for the rest of the

year. Please ask your student what

his or her goals are and follow up

periodically. This will help keep

your student accountable. This is

the time of year to power into

learning. We often see the most

growth at this time of the

year. With the weather being

colder, please take time to enjoy a

good book with your student. We

all know that to become a better

reader it takes LOTS of

practice. Reading is the

cornerstone to all academic

success. Your student should know

his/her reading level and have a

goal to work towards. Together we

can make every one of our students

successful!

Weather is becoming increasingly colder,

please be sure to dress your student

appropriately for outside play during

recess with a winter coat, hat and gloves!

SUPER 3rd Grade with 98%!

Way to go!! Each 3rd grade class will earn 10 extra

team points. Our school goal is 97% but we fell

short in December with 96%. Let’s start the new

year off healthy and make that 97% goal. Every

day counts!

Attendance update: -Just a reminder to call school before 9:30 to let us know if your child will not be at school. Automatic

calls from the administrative building go out if an unexcused absence is logged in attendance.

-The new Greater Clark attendance policy states that if your child has accumulated 5 absences, we will

need a doctor note to excuse any absence after that. Please know that Ms. Tammy can still set you up at

the Student Clinic.

-Please remember that if you bring your child late to school or pick him/her up early due to an

appointment, we will need a doctor note to excuse the tardy. Our fax number is 812-288-4894 if doctor

office prefers to fax the note.

The RES Student Council proudly presents...

RES Talent show to support Pennies for Patients. It will be held on January 24th from

6:00-7:00pm. Admission cost is a donation for Pennies for Patients.

We can be superheroes for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) the world’s largest

non-profit health organization dedicated to finding cures for blood cancers. The class

that brings in the most change will earn a special class lunch treat.

They are awesome curly elastic

shoe and sneaker laces that

never need tying! There will be

40 different colors to choose

from. They are $5.00 each.

Y-Ties are sturdy and durable!!

Proceeds from our Y-tie sales

will return to our students to

help enhance field day

activities.
