Why do people take risks?
It’s their job. Some people don’t
have a choice. They need the money.
Without thinking. Sometimes people take
risks without knowing.
And more sports.
Some people enjoy the thrill.Climb the tallest
mountain.

Famous People who took risks Rosa Parks Martin Luther King Dwayne Wade Cesar Chavez Daddy Yankee Frida Kahlo
Rosa Parks Risk: refused to obey the
bus drivers order to give up her seat (at that time - 1960s - African Americans were only allowed to sit at the back of the bus)
Consequence: started the Montgomery Bus Boycotts which later would spark the civil rights movement.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Risk: was one of leaders of
the civil rights movement, led non-violent protests
Consequences: many death threats, sparked legislation Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1964
Dwayne Wade Risk: left Marquette
University after his junior year of college.
Consequence: didn’t finish his degree at Marquette, but went on to play in the NBA and won a championship with the Miami Heat (2006)
Cesar Chavez Risk: protested the
conditions and treatment of farm workers (unprecedented back then)
Consequences: received
threats to stop, his efforts helped improve conditions for union workers – helped start the National Farm Workers Association
Daddy Yankee Risk: helped start a
new style of music called Reggaeton
Consequence: The new style of music (Reggaeton) made him famous and broke cultural boundaries.
Frida Kahlo Risks: After a horrible
car accident, she turned her attention away from the study of medicine.
Consequence: After the accident, she began a full-time painting career.
