The social committee is up and running and already has several exciting events planned! This year due to the fantastic involvement we have several sub-committees which will focus on organizing specific events. Each of these sub-committees has one or two people who are in charge of finalising the details for each event and being the representative who talks with the other heads of committees.

Our heads of committees and their area of expertise are as follows.

International & Communications Kate McCallum, Laura Vear

Sports – Georgia Shaw Arts

Louise Dunleavy, Miffanwy Smith

Community/ Social Vanessa Knight, Stacey Tomasino

So far we have had over 20 people involved as general members who will be helping these heads of committees plan some exciting events

You Da Man - LT - G.1.01 17.30 – 19.00pm

You the Man’ (YTM) is an American theatre-based program for bystander engagement and violence prevention. YTM has been in use in the US since 2002, in a variety of settings: secondary school (grades 9 to 12), tertiary education, workplaces and communities. Data from an ongoing longitudinal study in secondary schools in the US has shown that the intervention positively affects knowledge, attitudes and behaviour in the short, medium and longer term.

Participation in this research project is voluntary. If you do not want to take part you do not have to. If you decide to take part and later change your mind, you can drop out of the project at any stage. This is a great opportunity only being offered to Warrnambool Residence students.
