Studies indicate that socialconnections boost mental andphysical health. Making newfriends can enrich your life. Hereare some ways to connect withothers:
Show some enthusiasm. Beexcited about meeting new peopleand seeing friendly acquaintancesagain.
Follow up. After a conversationor outing with someone new,follow up to say you enjoyed it.
Take an interest. Figure out whatsomeone’s hobbies are, and thenfind something related to thatinterest. If a relevant article orcoupon comes your way, passit along.
Join the club. Find anorganization centered on one ofyour pastimes or passions to meetlike-minded people.
Volunteer. Helping others helpsyou meet great people.
Accept invitations. Instead of
watching TV, why not get outand mingle?
Keep it light. When making anew friend, stick with neutralsubjects. Remember, safe topicsdon’t have to mean boringconversation. As you get to knowpeople, you’ll gradually discovertheir opinions about more seriousissues.

Circle of Friends welcomes theHouston K9 academy this Fridayfor an exhibit from 10 a.m. to 11
a.m. on the back patio. Fridayevening Shabbat services each
week in the Town Hall continueto grow and we had over 20
family members and residents atour previous service. I would liketo announce the hiring of Erika
Leppo, our new EnrichmentLeader, who we are very excited to
have join our team. Erika has agreat work ethic and brings with
her much enthusiasm and passionand is dedicated to improve thequality of life for our residents. Iam also very excited to announcestarting shortly will also be our
new Circle of Friends pal Nicole,who will be a huge addition to the
team and great support for theEnrichment Leaders.
In the Neighborhood, we havehad many resident birthdays this
month and with it, much birthdaycake. I am always trying to add
more music in the Neighborhoodand have found several volunteers
to play cello for us this monthduring dining service.

special day together.Bob was in the Navy and was theManager for the Houston Country
Club. He was very influential intraining his staff and assisted hisboys start their own businesses,
both becoming very successful. Heloved sailing and would alwaystake his family with him on his
boat. Bob is very creative and usedto ice sculpt when he was
younger. Bob loves his dog, Zeus,who comes to visit him almost
every day.
