Many kinds of young animals live on the farm but Maggie is left out of their fun and games because she is

the only piglet. She is new on the farm and very shy.

Phoebe is a dog who lives in the little yellow house with the people that own the farm. She knows all of the

animals and cares for them very much, they are part of her family.

One day, Phoebe is sunbathing underneath a window and she sees Maggie sitting in the mud all alone while

the other animals play.

Phoebe is very curious, so she goes out through her doggy-door to investigate.

She found Maggie sitting alone in the mud and looking very sad. “Hi, I’m Phoebe” she says.

Why do you look so sad, Maggie?

I am sad. I have no one to play with.

Phoebe was a good little dog and didn’t like seeing the other animals sad. She had an idea to cheer Maggie up and introduce her to the other animals. They would play games, Maggie would feel better, even good enough to

talk to them herself.

Maggie, we should play together!

So Phoebe and Maggie played, frolicked, and chased each other all over the farm.

They played hide and seek in the fields…

They even took a mud bath!

By sunset, they were so dirty and tired that they took a dip in the pond.

After running around and having so much fun, Maggie felt ready to ask the other animals to play. Maggie finally got the chance to introduce herself and did not feel shy

anymore. Phoebe’s plan had worked!

So the next day, all of the young animals on the farm went on adventures together. They were all becoming

very good friends after all.
