· Allaah revealed the Qur’aan in this month· Allaah has made Laylat al-Qadr in this month, which is better than a thousand months· Allaah has made fasting Ramadaan and spending its nights in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward a means of forgiveness of sins· In this month, Allaah opens the gates of Paradise and closes the gates of Hell, and chains up the devils· Every night Allaah has people whom He redeems from the Fire· Fasting Ramadaan is a means of expiation for the sins committed since the previous Ramadaan, so long as one avoids major sins· Fasting in Ramadaan is equivalent to fasting ten months· Umrah in Ramadaan is equivalent to Hajj· It is Sunnah to observe i’tikaaf (retreat for the purpose of worship) in Ramadaan
There are seven things that break the fast, as follows: 1- Intercourse2- Masturbation3- Eating and drinking4- Anything that is regarded as coming under the same heading as eating and drinking5- Letting blood by means of cupping and the like6- Vomiting deliberately7- Menstruation and nifaas
Things that invalidate the FastFasting is obligatory for a person if he fulfills five conditions:1- He is a Muslim2- He is accountable (mukallaf)3- He is able to fast4- He is settled (not travelling)5- There are no impediments to fasting
