BLOCK ASSEMBLY: THIS BLOCk CONSISTS OF 1 BLOCk IN 2 COLORS.

1. CENTER BLOCK 1: Take (4) B 3-1/2” squares and either fold diagonally and press with iron or draw a diagonal line on the wrong side. place 1 B square on the upper left hand corner of (1) A 6-1/2” center square, right sides together. Sew on diagonal line. flip the lower right hand corner to upper left hand corner. press and trim excess fabric 1/4”. repeat steps for the remaining (3) squares to complete Center Block 1. Square to 6-1/2”. Make 6.

2. repeat Step 1 to make Center Block 2 replacing G for A and H squares for B squares. Then make Corner Block using the same fabrics as Center Block 2, but with G 5-1/2” squares and H 3” squares. Square to 5-1/2”. Make 4.

3. make the side sections as shown in the diagrams below. A. add C 4-1/4” qST’s to D 2-5/8” squares B. add E 3-7/8” hST’s to CD Unit to create CDE Unit. Square to 3-1/2” x 6-1/2”. Make 24.

4. repeat Step 3 for Center Block 2’s side sections. replace fabrics as shown below to create BDC Unit. “Square to 3 ½” x 6 ½”. Make 24.

5. Sew F 3-1/2” squares to ends of (12) CDE Units and I 3-1/2” squares to ends of (12) BDC Units as shown in the diagrams below.

6. Sew the remaining CDE Units to the sides of Center Block 1, then sew CDEF Units to the top and bottom to complete BLOCK 1. Square to 12-1/2”. Make 6.

7. repeat Step 6 using BDC and BDCI Units to complete BLOCK 2. Square to 12-1/2” Make 6.

8. ROW ASSEMBLY: Create 2 rows alternating BLOCKS 1 and BLOCKS 2. you will make a total of 2 rows each and place them according to the quilt diagram on the next page.
