In CEREC, perform a construction of the tooth that will become an implant site. Note: This tooth will never actually be milled. It must resemble the later tooth in size and position, but the anatomy of the fissure lines does not need to be correct. Since there might not be a tooth base, the base line is simply put onto the gums: Note: If you are working with more than two implant sites next to each other, you might consider creating a bridge as opposed to a crown. This will help with the contacts and margins. 2. Construct the tooth as usual. When you are finished, make sure that the SSI dongle is connected to the CEREC unit, go to the milling preview and export the construction as *ssi file (this option will not be visible if the dongle is not connected). Export the file to a USB stick or any location where you can access it from the Galileos/Galaxis program. 3. In SIDEXIS/ GALAXIS open the scan of the patient in question. Go to the CAD/CAM tab on the left (you need to have a Galileos license activated)

Quick Guide CEREC – Gali leos Integration

4. Browse to and open the *ssi file you created for this patient.

5. Click on “Next” and mark the corresponding anatomical structures on both the model and Xray by

double-clicking on the points shown below. Choose the contours that show the sharpest edges or structures. If you make a mistake you can delete the points by clicking on the blue X on the bottom.

6. Repeat the same procedure for the second reference point (more reference points can be added if necessary). Finish the import by clicking “Next”. the CEREC reconstruction is registered in GALAXIS. Double-check the fit before you continue with the implant planning

7. To place implants with CEREC data, click the implant icon under the CAD/CAM tab instead of the implant section.

This method automatically places the implant based on where the crown and is not attached to the mouse. The tooth numbering is also then based on the CEREC information. Choose tooth
