The Leprosy Mission Hospital, Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh - 225 001
Date: January 29, 2014
Dear all,
Reg: Invitation to participate in a rally on World anti-Leprosy Day
Every year, 30th January is observed as World anti-Leprosy Day to focus attention and create awareness about the leprosy. The day is chosen in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi, who took a keen interest in the eradication of leprosy and the plight of people affected by it. On this day, several programmes are being organised across India to galvanise people to fight the stigma and discrimination against people affected by leprosy, which is now completely curable. We are pleased to inform you that on World anti-Leprosy Day, The Leprosy Mission
Trust India’s Challenging Anti-Leprosy Legislation (CALL) Project, Uttar Pradesh
Chapter will be organising a public rally of people affected by leprosy and their
well-wishers, details of which are given below:
Date: Thursday, 30th January 2014
Time: 8:30 am to 10:00 am
Rally starts from: Vidhan Sabha, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh
Rally ends at: Gandhi Pratima, Hazratganj, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh
There will be a public meeting after the rally, where Shri Ahmad Hasan, the Hon'ble
Health Minister of Uttar Pradesh government will address the rallyists. We expect
more than 200 people to join us in the rally. We invite you to participate in the rally
and show solidarity with people affected by leprosy.
Looking forward to your participation.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely
