New Record Breaks, New Clients, New Cargos, New Colleagues, New Job,

New Boss, New addition to the family, New Life partner - all new experiences are

always exciting, But sometimes it can even make one nervous.

Not only nervous, one can experience very mixed emotions. There are days when one

feels life is like a pretty picture seen through rosy glasses. There are

some days when nothing goes right and life looks very grim and gloomy.

Remember, at all these Times, keeping a positive attitude and wearing a smile always helps!

Keep the Faith and Keep Smiling - at work and more importantly at home as well!

Developing Leadership Skills

Leaders transmit the special “something” that attracts people around them. But if one realises that every

individual has leadership skills, identify those skills and develop them, then one would be effective both at work

and at home.

A leader is someone who can

take charge and make things happen

accept responsibility for his/her actions

rely on his/her own judgement

can take risks

convey authority in a way that makes others feel good

delegate and empower others

make good decisions

do the right things and not just doing things right

Try to develop these skills and you are sure to become a leader. Good Luck!

Happy New Year!

"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". Keeping this proverb in mind, an annual

Pre School Olympics event was held to encourage physical activities with fun among children.

The little ones marched and waved out cheerfully, followed by a mini drill, hopping, sand

filling, jumping etc.,

Christmas and New year party 2008 in Smile School

Santa visited Smile School jingling and wishing everyone merry Christmas. Children cut

cake, danced and sang along with Santa and welcomed the New Year with fun & happiness.

Graduation Day at The Vikasa School

Yet another academic year came to an end! The graduation ceremony marked the

class of 2008 bidding farewell. The tiny tots entertained their seniors with a play

"Children's Day Out".The day also marked the donation of Rs.2,50,000 raised by

the school for a building project of the underprivileged.The cheque was handed

over by the Chairman of The Vikasa School, Mr.T.Velsankar to the representative

of Little Sisters of the Poor.

celebrated New Year 2008 with much joy. Master Rakesh, son of Mr.N.Ganesan

cut the cake. There was plenty of music and fun. It was truly a memorable day

sharing and exchanging happiness all the way!

Single largest Granite Shipment: PSTS breaks its own record in

Port of Chennai

PSTS handled the single largest shipment of granite blocks of 34,683 MT

from the Port of Chennai to Europe through MV Port Land Castle on 25th

Jan 2008. The Navalmar team and PSTS team celebrated this record

break in style on 26th Jan which happens to be PSTS Family Day!

On 24th Feb 2008, the Chennai Regional office of

ESI Corporation celebrated its

56th anniversary by organizing a mini-marathon in

Marina Beach. Particpants from PSTS include

V.Pradeep, P.Saravanan, R.Ganesan, KV Vijayakumar

PSTS Heavy Lift & Shift Ltd holds 12th Annual General Meeting

On 20th December 2007, the 12th AGM of PHLS was held in Hotel Marina

Towers, Chennai. At the meeting, new Directors Dr.Nanda Kumar and

Mr.SK Gandhimathinathan were appointed in the place of outgoing

Director Mr.Narayanaswamy and late Mr.Sivalingam. The highlight of the meeting

was the declaration of 7% dividend for the year 2006-2007.

PSTS Logistics and PHLS join hands to offer unique logistics solution to Hyundai

Engineering & Construction Company at the Port of Ennore

PSTS Logistics did the Project Clearance for Hyundai Dredger “ASANHO” which arrived in Ennore Port for

capital dredging of the Port of Ennore.

PHLS undertook the unique operation by unloading the pipes on the seaside of the vessel MV ASTRID onto a

barge and later unloaded at the finger jetty and finally transported the same to the site a few kilometers away

within the port. The Pontoons were dropped into the harbour basin and later towed by boats and tied at the

shore.

Raising awareness about ISO in PSTS

In order to improve the Service Process Efficiency, PSTS involved

Mr.Giridharan ,an ISO Consultant . He spent many weeks studying the

present system and process and along with the inputs of the various

Department heads in both Chennai and Tuticorin prepared a Process Note.

mementos for all members of the PSTS family. Interesting games like Musical Chair for the Couple, Role Play of Tarzan and Lady Dada were conducted among three teams (viz) "Pulikesi" ,"Saroja Samaan Nikhalo" and "Makaan'

- these wierd names were given by the respective team to themselves!!!.Children, spouse and everybody joined the fun and frolic that lasted till evening!
