1. Last Minutes of MeetingThe last minutes of meeting held on 21st April 2011 was distributed and there wereno major amendments to the minutes except for misspelling Mr. Winson Chuasname as Vincent.

2. PSG Web PageThe PSG web page was successfully launched at the Achievers Tea ceremony on26th May 2011 by our PSG chairperson, Lee Wei Yin.

At present, the PSG web page is in the drop-down list under the sub-tab of thePARENTS tab in the main page of the school web page.Mr Phua suggested that the PSG page should be shown at the click on thePARENTS tab. This will provide more convenience to parents in obtaininginformation on activities of PSG and also provide good advertisement to PSG.

3. Facilitator Course For ParentsWei Yin and Karen have already signed up for the above course which willcommence in July 2011.

As the closing date has been extended, Martina Thomas who has shown interestwill also sign up for the course.

4. PSG T-ShirtMdm Anidah informed that we are not able to obtain funding for PSG T-Shirts fromMCYS.Mdm Anidah suggested to use name tags for identification purpose.

5. Past School Events

Math Fun-O-Rama 20th May 2011Maths Fun-O-Rama is a series of sports based maths activities, run by our Sec.1 students, aimed to cultivate greater interest in Mathematics and developcreative problem-solving skills amongst our upper primary level students.Secondary schools from W6 cluster, Jurong Secondary, Chestnut DriveSecondary, Greenridge Secondary and Regent Secondary put up the variousstations and Concord Primary, Teck Whye Primary were invited to participate inthis event.Kris Chong, Jennifer Tay and Karen Chen helped in the above event and it wasa success.

Cultural Night 20th May 2011Flair : An evening of Song, Dance and Drama was the theme for this yearsCultural Night. This successful event held at the ITE College West Auditoriumwas performed by the various performing arts group of the school.General feedback from the audience are very positive though the sound system

for the afternoon performance was not satisfactory.The evening performance was generally better compared to the afternoon one.

Mr Phuas answer to Martina question on why the event was not held inRepublic Polytechnic was that the cost at RP is higher.

It was suggested that the future Cultural Night to be shortened to oneperformance and to be held in a bigger hall, example Singapore PolytechnicHall.

Achievers Tea 26th May 2011This event is held at the end of each semester to show encouragement tostudents who have shown great improvement in their academic performance.

Many parents were present at this event to share their childs achievement.

7. Any Other Matters

Regent Secondary - on Face bookMr. Phua informed that Regent Secondary has created an account on Facebook. This is to provide another medium for our students to obtain informationon the schools events and also to express their views.

Brisk walkingMartina suggested to organise Brisk walking activity to engage students whoare very active to spend their time on useful activities. It is also a way forparents to bond too.Mr Phua suggested that this activity can be organised by the parents, startingfrom a small group.

School UniformKris pointed out that the new school uniforms material is too rough and thick. Asinglet or T-shirt need to be worn inside.Martina also pointed out that the hook on the pants is not sewn on by thread buta metal hook which will tear the material.Mr. Phua acknowledged the above points and will look into the matter.

School Web PageKaren pointed out that there is no school teachers contact list in the schoolsweb page.Mr. Phua will ask Winson to improve on this point.

Confiscation of EZ Link cardChui Chui mentioned that her sons EZ link card was confiscated by his teacherbut was not returned to him after school. The reason being the teacher was notcontactable.Mr. Phua promised that he will resolve this matter with the teacher. He also

highlighted that parents need to provide more details e.g. teachers name, inorder for the school to help resolve issues concerning school staff.
