Regional Academies

Purpose: To authentically engage and provide

parents, high school students and community the

tools to participate in an interactive study of the

PSC school proposals and become advocates of

high quality public schools

Session 1: Using Data to Advocate for High Quality

Schools

Introduces participants to PSC and important school

data

Session 2: Elements of a High Quality School

Builds on school data and engages participants in

discussion and activities to identify key principles

and priorities for their respective schools.

Session 3: Interactive School Plan Review Process Part IPreparing to Examine School Plans

Prepares participants to meet the PSC Applicant teams by examining the

informational school plans and preparing interview questions to share with

the applicant teams.

Session 4: Interactive School Plan Review Process Part II

A Conversation with PSC Applicant TeamsEngages participants in a moderated conversation with PSC Applicant

teams. Participants use the skills obtained as part of the Regional

Academies to discuss the PSC school plans with the applicant teams and

share feedback for the Superintendents School Plan Review Process.8

While applicants will be observers during sessions 1 through

3, they will be asked to be active participants in session 4.
