Mission Education offers hope. We believe that all children, regardless of their economic circumstances, deserve

access to quality educational opportunities. We believe that parents should have an opportunity to choose

through privately funded scholarships.

Providing Educational Choices for Children

Dear Friend of NOSF:

In 2019, the Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund continued to provide educational choices for children by providing need-based scholarships. You will see some of those choices reflected in the school logos throughout this report. Providing educational choices for children was a recurring theme for 2019 starting with NOSF’s first ever School Choice School Fair held in January at the Franciscan Center in Sylvania. As a kick-off to “National School Choice Week,” NOSF welcomed 37 different schools and School Choice Ohio for parents and guardians to visit and learn about the different school choices and scholarships available in their community. Families gathered in June to celebrate with their 2019 graduates at a NOSF graduation party in their honor in the Ward Pavilion at Wildwood Metropark. This event welcomed new NOSF alumni and gave the NOSF Board a chance to wish the students well as they continue on their educational path. A few graduates from the Class of 2015 also attended to celebrate their high school graduation. In the Fall, NOSF awarded 620 scholarships worth $660,000 for the 2019-2020 school year. These scholarships were used at 66 different private schools and for homeschool expenses for students in grades K-8. Providing educational choices for children contributes to student success. NOSF conducted a survey of its 2014 graduates and found that they had a 100% high school graduation rate and that 69% of them were enrolled in a four-year or two-year degree program. NOSF is partnering with the National Student Clearing House Student Tracker Service to continue to follow the path of its graduates. Being a part of NOSF, can be very humbling as I get to meet and see students on their path to adulthood. It is also verygratifying to see all the individuals, foundations and organizations who support NOSF and provide educational choicesfor children in Northwest Ohio.

Thank you,

Ann Riddle1
