Took a little while for the microtech – a man-made material that’s lighter than leather – to break in, but once it did they’re comfortable to wear and walk in (although the waterproof version is thick for a summer boot). On the bike, the huge plastic ankle and rear protection can get caught on the heel guard. Metal toe sliders are big and unlikely to wear out. Good for wide feet or getting thick socks in.
