COMMENT INSTALLER LA BASE

1• Pour décrocher le siège du bébé de labase-auto (des poussettes ou deschâssis Peg Perego), tirer vers l'haut lapoignée située derrière le dossier etsoulever le siège du bébé.

2• Placez la base sur le siège du véhicule;la position préférable est au milieu dusiège arrière.

3• La base doit être parallèle au sol. Pourajuster la base dans l’angle juste,tournez la griffe à vis en haut ou enbas en suivant la flèche. Veuillez à ceque votre automobile soit stationnéesur un sol plat avant de commencercette opération.

4• Ajustez la base jusqu’à ce que la balledans l’indicateur latéral soit dans lazone verte.

NOTE:• Si votre véhicule est équipé avec des

ancrages de fixation universelle,référez-vous à la section "UTILISATIONDU SYSTÈME LATCH" (page 18).

• Si votre véhicule est équipé avec desceintures de sécurité conventionnelles,référez-vous à la section "UTILISATIONDE CEINTURES DE SÉCURITÉSTANDARD" (page 20).

HOW TO INSTALL THE BASE

1• To remove the car seat from the base(or from Peg Perego strollers orcarriages), pull up the handle on therear of the backrest and lift the car seatat the same time.

2• Place the base on the vehicle seat; thepreferred position is in the middle ofthe back seat.

3• The base must be parallel to theground. To adjust the base at theproper angle, rotate the screw knob upor down following the arrow. Checkthat your car is parked on level groundbefore beginning this operation.

4• Adjust the base until the ball in the sideindicator is in the green area.

NOTE:• If your vehicle is equipped with

universal lower anchors, please refer tosection “USE OF LATCH SYSTEM” (page18).

• If your vehicle is equipped withconventional seat belt only, please referto section “USE OF STANDARD SEATBELT” (page 20).

USE OF LATCH SYSTEM

Primo Viaggio is designed for vehiclesequipped with universal lower anchors.Anchors can be positioned in variouslocations depending on vehicle model.Please read your vehicle owner’s manualabout use and position of anchors for childpassenger seats.

5• The base is fitted with LATCH latchesfor the universal lower anchors. Thelatches are stored at each side of thebase. To release the latches, loosen thestrap pressing the button on theadjuster and pulling as shown in thepicture. Press the red tab on top of thelatches and pull the latches out of theirhousings.

6• Locate the lower anchors on your carand place the latches as shown in thepicture (see detail for correct position).

7• Press until an audible click is heard.Check that the harness is threaded flatand free of any obstruction.

8• Tighten the base on the seat pullingthe free portion of the latch harness.Press down on the base using yourbody weight and tighten the harnessfurther. If the ball rolls on the red area,please adjust the screw further until theball returns in the green area. Theharness may have to be loosenedslightly to raise the base. UTILISATION DU SYSTEME LATCH

6• Localisez les ancrages sur votre automobileet placez les loquets tel que montré dans ledessin. (voyez les détails pour une correcteposition).

7• Appuyez jusqu’à ce que vous entendiez unclic audible. Vérifiez si le harnais est vissé àplat et libre de toute obstruction.

USE OF STANDARD SEAT BELT

9• Place the base on the vehicle seat; thepreferred position is in the middle ofthe back seat. Thread the vehicle lapbelt around the base through the slotshighlighted with arrow and buckle.

10•If a lap/shoulder belt is used, theshoulder strap must not be placed inthe slot, as shown in the picture.

11•Once the seat belt is buckled tightenthe base on the seat pulling the seatbelt. Adjust the screen knob until theball in the side indicator is in greenarea. Press down on the base usingyour body weight and tighten theharness further. If the ball rolls on thered area, please adjust the screwfurther until the ball returns in thegreen area. The harness may have tobe loosened slightly to raise the base.Pull on the base to see if it is securelymounted. There should be very littlemovement side to side or front to rear.The base is ready for car seat fitting.

NOTE: Refer to section “VEHICLE SEATBELTS” for different belt configurations andin case of use of the locking clip.

VEHICLE SEAT BELTS

Primo Viaggio is designed for vehiclesequipped with a lap belt or shoulder/lapbelt. However, there may be differentdesigns. Only the most popular arereviewed here. Please read your vehicleowner’s manual on use of child passengerseats.

12•If your vehicle is equipped with a seatbelt that slides freely through the latchplate, you must use the locking clip(located on the car seat base) becausethe base will not be firmly secured tothe seat and will slide in the event of acrash. To put the plate on the belt, firstinstall the base, then hold the lap andshoulder strap together close to thelatch and unbuckle. At the end of thisoperation, it may be necessary tofurther adjust the base inclination withthe screw knob. Always check that theball in the side indicator is in the greenarea.

13•Keeping the two straps in hand, putthe locking clip as shown in the picturekeeping the locking clip position awayfrom the latch by 1/2 inch approx(1cm).

14•Manually adjustable lap belt: if afterlocking, the latch plate becomes loose,due to a wrong angle, flip the plateover and buckle again. Test installationbefore use.

15•Lap belt with retractor: if you havean Automatic Locking Retractor, let thebelt pass through the base slot, buckleand tighten until the retractor locks.

If you have an Emergency LockingRetractor DO NOT USE to fit your car seat.(to check the retractor: extend the belt allthe way out, allow it to retract by about 6inches and then pull out again; if it locksyou have an Automatic Retractor, if youcan pull freely, then you have anEmergency Retractor).

12•Si votre véhicule est équipé d'uneceinture de sécurité qui glisse librementà travers l'embout du boîtier deverrouillage, vous devez utiliser le clipde blocage (situé à la base du siègeauto) ou bien la base ne sera pasattachée fermement au siège et glisseraen cas d'accident. Pour mettre l'emboutdans la ceinture, installer d'abord labase, puis tenir ensemble la partieventrale et la partie diagonale à côtédu boîtier de verrouillage et détacher. Àla fin de cette opération, il pourrait êtrenécessaire d’ajuster l’inclinaison de labase avec la griffe à vis. Vérifieztoujours si la bille sur l’indicateur latéralest dans la zone verte.

13•En gardant les deux courroies dans lamain, mettre le clip de blocage commesur le dessin, en tenant le clip à 1 cmdu boîtier de verrouillage.

14•Ceinture ventrale réglable de façonmanuelle: si après blocage, l'emboutdu boîtier de verrouillage se détache, àcause d'un mauvais angle, remettrel'embout à sa place et boucler denouveau. Tester l'installation avantutilisation.

15•Ceinture ventrale avec rétracteur: si

vous avez un rétracteur avec blocageautomatique, laisser passer la ceinture àtravers la fente de la base, boucler ettendre jusqu'au blocage du rétracteur.

Si vous avez un rétracteur à blocaged'urgence, NE PAS L' UTILISER pourfixer votre siège auto. (Pour vérifier lerétracteur: tendre complètement laceinture, en lui permettant de serétracter d'environ 12 cm et puis tirerde nouveau; si cela se bloque, vousavez un rétracteur automatique, si vouspouvez tirer librement, alors vous avezun rétracteur d'urgence).

HOW TO FIT THE CAR SEAT

20•Take the car seat by the handle andposition it REAR FACING over the base.Then press it into the base until it clicksaudibly. Check to see that the seat isproperly locked trying to move or tilt it.Do not try to install the car seatwithout the base.When the car seat is installed, the ballmay be moved out of the green area.Unlatch the car seat and further adjustthe base. Remember that in case of useof the car seat with a newborn aslightly more reclined position isrecommended.

21•To adjust the handle push the buttonson both sides of the handle.

22•In the car the handle must beplaced along the top edge of theseat as in the picture. Any otherposition may cause injuries to thechild in case of accident.

23•To remove the car seat, rotate thehandle to the vertical position. Pull thelever in the backrest and lift the seat atthe same time.

COMMENT FIXER LE SIEGE AUTO

20•Prendre le siège auto par la poignée etle positionner DOS A LA ROUTE sur labase. Puis, appuyer sur la base jusqu'àl'obtention d'un clic. Vérifier que lesiège est correctement fixé en essayantde le bouger ou de l'incliner. HARNESS OPERATIONS

24•To fit the safety belt take the twoshoulder straps and place them overthe child's shoulders. Take care that thestraps are not twisted along the routefrom behind the backrest. Place theharness latch plates into the bucklesand press until they “click” intoposition. Check that the harness issecured.

25•Fit the chest clip by simply pushing thetwo halves together as shown in thepicture. Adjust to arm pit level.

26•To release the harness simply depressthe red button and pull the latches inan upward manner.

27•To undo the chest clip, press on theside and pull apart as shown in thepicture.

HARNESS OPERATIONS

28•Adjust the harness retainer clip to thearm pit level and snug the harnesssimply by pulling the adjuster strap. Besure that there is one finger widthbetween the harness and the collarbone. Tuck loose end of adjuster strapin next to baby.

29•To loosen harness, depress the harnessadjuster placed under the fabric pocketand pull harness from the top of theshoulders.

30•The harness can be positioned at threedifferent shoulder heights. To changeposition, remove the harness from themetal plate under the seat.

31•Pull the shoulder straps through theopenings and reposition at the desiredheight.In order to correctly fasten the child inthe seat, the shoulder harness shouldalways be positioned slightly lowerthan the shoulder level (as shown inthe picture).

Fairepasser la courroie à travers l'ouverturedu dossier du siège et accrocher denouveau à la plaque en métal.

33•Placer les couvertures de la courroiediagonale autour de la ceinture, en lesfixant à l'aide de la fermeture velcro.Pour qu'elles soient utiliséescorrectement, vérifier que le velcro esttourné vers l'extérieur.

OPTIONS

32•To fit the shoulder strap covers, removethe harness from the metal plate underthe seat (as in picture 30) and pull theshoulder straps through the headprotection cushion choosing the properheight. Let the strap pass through theseat backrest opening and latch againto the metal plate.

33•Put the shoulder strap covers aroundthe belt and close using the velcro. Forcorrect use check that the velcro islooking outward.

34•To fit the crotch protection pull thebuckle through the opening as shownin the picture.

36•This unit is designed to be used as aninfant seat other than in the car. Thespecial shell shape enables the chair torock, so that you can even rock yourbaby. To prevent rocking, position thehandlebar behind the backrestfollowing instructions in the picture.

37•To fit the hood, push the handlebackwards, place the hood adjustingcouplings onto the handle, then tie upthe fastening strings as shown in thefigure. To remove the hood, reverseoperations.

38•The hood can be adjusted to twopositions: To raise or lower it, push onthe inner sides of the adjustingcouplings and bring the hood up ordown till the next click.

aircraft seats. Fasten the base to theseat using the lap belt as shown in thepicture.

40•A secondary belt path as shown in thefigure, can also be used.Once the seat belt is buckled tightenthe base on the seat pulling the seatbelt. Adjust the knob until the ball inthe side indicator is in green area. CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Your product requires only minimalmaintenance. Cleaning and maintenanceoperations must be performed only byadults.•Be sure to keep all moving parts clean,lubricating them with light oil if necessary.

•Regularly clean the plastic parts with adamp cloth. Do not use solvents or similarproducts.

•Brush the fabric parts to remove dust.•Protect the product against smog, water,rain and snow. Continued and extendedexposure to sunlight can change thecolours of many materials.

•Store the product in a dry area.

41•To wash the baby chair padding,remove the hood;

42•Unfasten and remove the safety beltfrom the upholstery;

43•Undo the flaps fixing the upholsteryfrom below the chair; do not removeor wash the internal padding.
