Last spring we worked on Alexander Akrithakis and we created…

butterflies with different textures. First we painted papers with two colours,

Page 4: P.point akritakis and wyspianski

then, we scratched the paper with plastic forks, toothpicks…to make different patterns.

Page 5: P.point akritakis and wyspianski

finally we cut out the “textured paper” with the shapes of the butterfly and put all the pieces together.

We also made some candle holders…

and here you go!

This September we have started working on Stanislaw Wyspianski:

We made some pictures of the children with hats and laces, inspired by Wyspianski!

and the boys…

Then we practiced sketching the human scheme in different positions.

4th grade also worked on self-portraits, but this time they used

wrapping paper to decorate …

3rd graders worked on a giant self-portrait made with the “glue-drawing technique”

Page 16: P.point akritakis and wyspianski

To do that, we used “liquid glue” and drew with it on a dark cardboard

Page 17: P.point akritakis and wyspianski

Then, we coloured in with chalk pastels.

The big-sized project happened to be very engaging for the children.

1st and 2nd graders made some portraits with oil pastels

Page 20: P.point akritakis and wyspianski

…and also put their handprint!

Page 21: P.point akritakis and wyspianski

…and the kindergarten also contributed to the project with their self-portraits!:

We also observed Wyspianski´s landscapes with trees:

This is the material that we used:

Page 24: P.point akritakis and wyspianski

We made the trunk and the branches of the tree blowing away the paint with the straw:

Page 25: P.point akritakis and wyspianski

and then we created the leaves with a cotton swab:

Nowadays, our 3rd graders are working on stained glass windows :

Page 27: P.point akritakis and wyspianski

In order to do that, we have mixed black acrylic paint with white liquid glue:

then the children outline the drawing with the “black mixture” and finally they colour it with acrylic colours:
