Power Xpert® C445 System OverviewOperation Modes: Multiple Starter Control Profiles

The Power Xpert® C445 relay can be configured to one of several predefined operation modes.

The selection of a predefined operation mode defines the relay inputs and outputs for that

application and they cannot be changed.

Each operation mode is designed to meet the requirements of a common application configuration.

Operation modes can be controlled via 2-wire or 3-wire control schemes.

Available Operation Modes• Overload – Used for traditional motor overload applications (no control of the contactor)

• Direct Online Starter (DOL) – Used for direct on-line motor starting applications (FVNR)

• Reversing Starter – Similar to DOL but adds a reverse relay output (FVR)

• Star/Delta Starter – Initiates start in the Star winding configuration. Transitions to Delta winding once motor is up to speed

• Two Speed Starter – Two speed pole changing profile. Logic controls a two speed type starter

• Two Speed Dahlander Starter – Logic controls a Dahlander type starter

• Auto Transformer Starter – Logic controls an auto transformer connected motor

• Solenoid Valve – Uses open and close commands to operate the control relays

• HMCP/MCCP– Provides two modes of operation for feeder control: With actuation and without actuation

• Contactor Control – Uses an open command to deactivate contactor control relays and a close command to activate

• General Purpose I/O – Enables individual on/off control for the four inputs and the three outputs (testing purposes).

• Best-in-industry configurable protections offer 20% more trip and alarming functionality than competition

providing greater system coverage• Competition has fewer protections – voltage/power often tend to be for monitoring only.

• Most flexible communications offering allows for connection to widest array of systems• SIMOCODE: PROFIBUS/PROFINET

• Rockwell: EtherNet/IP & DeviceNet

• Schneider: Modbus Serial, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, CANOpen

• Eaton C445: Modbus Serial, ModbusTCP, PROFIBUS, EtherNet/IP

• Smallest physically footprint in the industry enables high-density Motor Control• Best in Class size

• Stacked configuration available

• Voltage option does not add any size to the Base Control Module

• USB on the User Interface allows monitoring/tuning of parameters without opening control door• Standard USB micro port – no special connector/module required to connect

• Voltage Loss Restart with (3) independent modes for reacceleration• Competition has power failure restart however not with Auto, Short, and Long Time options

• Multiple Control User Interface options to match appropriate Operation Mode• Competition either requires users to hand-write symbols/labels or use overpriced touchscreen for each motor load

• Open industry-standard software tool with multiple product support – Free of charge• Configuration of C445 does not require user to purchase expensive software package – downloadable from website with free technical support
