“Exponor is one of the most relevant events for the international mining industry. It is a good place for us to share our innovative outlook and our commitment to sustainability, demonstrating in concrete terms the reasons why we are the primary private Chilean mining group”.
FRANCISCO VELOSOVice President of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Antofagasta Minerals(Source: Área Minera Magazine)
“I found it to be a formidable exhibition. It is a space for actors in the mining industry to meet people and do business. It promotes the region of Antofagasta, not just as a mining destination but also for tourism, and it showcases Chile as a powerhouse of research and innovation”.
SERGIO HERNÁNDEZExecutive Vice President of Cochilco(Source: Área Minera Magazine)
“Our country has a long history of implementing innovative solutions to the operational challenges of the mining industry, and being present at Exponor represents an important opportunity for our companies to internationalize their services and generate business opportunities with the participating mining companies and suppliers. We hope to maintain this presence in 2017”.
TREVOR HINESDirector of Trade and Investmentat the British Embassy(Source: Sonami Mining Bulletin)
“In the current climate, with falling investment and low commodity prices, particularly for copper, Exponor should be seen as an opportunity to identify new technologies which allow for greater efficiency and lower costs”.

ANTOFAGASTA INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION70 YEARS OF INNOVATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MINING INDUSTRY
Business association founded in 1944 and made up of more than 210 companies from the large-scale mining industry, as well as the most important suppliers of goods and services to this productive sector.
The AIA’s primary challenge today is to continue working towards the consolidation of a mining cluster, a development strategy introduced by the association in the late 1990s, through the Mining Cluster 2.0 Strategy, which aims to contribute to long-term policy at the national and regional level.
To achieve this, the Antofagasta Industrial Association supports initiatives such as Exponor, Sicep, the Business Development Center, Codetia, Don Bosco Technical and Industrial School Antofagasta y Calama, the Social Responsibility Program, the Antofagasta Convention Bureau and the Strategic Plan for Early Years Education, among others.
