OUR STUDIO IS A CREATIVE PLACE WHERE WE SOLVE PROBLEMS AND DEVELOP INNOVATIVE DESIGNS. WE SPECIALISE IN COMMERCIAL PROJECTS AND LISTEN TO OUR CLIENTS TO UNDERSTAND THEIR BUSINESS OBJECTIVES. OUR WORK RANGES FROM IDENTIFYING OPPORTUNITIES AND GROWING PROJECTS WITH CLIENTS TO PRODUCING CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION AND COMPLETING PROJECTS ON SITE. THIS RANGE REQUIRES THE SKILLS OF MANY PEOPLE IN OUR TEAM WHO SPECIALISE IN DESIGN AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION. WE WORK ON PROJECTS ACROSS THE UK AND OVERSEAS AND HAVE EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN LEADING DESIGN TEAMS. OUR CLIENTS ARE BOTH FIRST TIME AND ESTABLISHED DEVELOPERS WHO NEED NEW THINKING AND CONTEMPORARY DESIGN SOLUTIONS TO PRODUCE HIGH QUALITY ARCHITECTURE. The English Heritage Grade Two Star listed Building at the edge of Swindon Town Centre is being enlarged and re-energised after a period of 15 successful years trading.

Pod Architects worked on the project from conception after winning a competition set by the clients and a successful Planning Permission was achieved in 2013. The project is now in construction and is due for completion in April 2015. Pod worked closely with English Heritage and the Conservation Office to develop a retail solution within this historically important building. The scheme has been nominated for the RICS and RIBA awards 2015.

The Strand Retail Centre, BulgariaTPI Burgas

The Strand Open Air Mall on the edge of Town in Burgas, Bulgaria and was completed in Summer 2013. Pod Architects worked on the project for over 5 years, developing the design and providing Technical Supervision in Bulgaria from our local office. The building houses a 700-space ground level car park, Multiplex cinema, Gym, Restaurants, and fashion retail units totalling over 28,000 sqm of retail space. The Strand was nominated for Bulgarian building of the year.

Charlotte OlympiaBoutique, Kensington

Works will start in January 2015 on site in Kensington, London to convert a former restaurant unit into a high quality store for the fashion group Charlotte Olympia. The project involves a new double height glazed facade that has been negotiated with Kensington and Chelsea in a conservation area. The design language is contemporary but uses highlights from Hollywood glamour interiors developed alongside the ethos of the clients brand and identity.

McQueen Flagship StoreMayfair, London

This new flagship store for McQueen is located in a Conservation area in Westminster, on Dover St Mayfair. The project is comprised of both refurbishment and new build works. Pod Architects have worked closely with the client on both the Interior Design and Brand Development concepts throughout the duration of the project, which was completed and opened on schedule in mid-September 2012.

Gatwick TerminalsGatwick Airports Ltd.

Pod Architects have completed a number of projects in Gatwick Airport and are appointed as Retail Design Consultants reviewing both North and South terminals. Pod Architects developed the design and detail for the new entrance to Gatwick South Terminal and it was successfully opened on time in spring 2012. The development consists of a new entrance with a spectacular canopy, new routes to the Terminal and additional public facilities. The development was constructed whilst the terminal was operational and was completed within a period of 18 months.

Spurstowe TerraceCharles Bentley Ltd.

Pod Architects have developed the design for this residential block in Hackney, London. It delivers a mixed-use office and residential scheme on the site to accommodate 27 units with penthouse flats and 2 office units involving demolition of the existing unused 1970’s training building and the development of a residential building.

Norton Folgate Office RefurbishmentTIAA Henderson Real Estate

No 1 Norton Folgate is a five storey office building built in 1985 and let on a floor by floor basis by small to medium sized companies on a variety of leasing terms. Pod Architects worked on a programme of refurbishment works to upgrade the reception area on Norton Folgate Street, as well as new works to upgrade the common parts and to overhaul the office space to attract new tenants. The aim of the works is to improve the general facility and attract new tenants to higher grade office space.
