13) Please provide any specific comments you have regarding any of the previously mentioned aspects of the Conference (please reference the specific aspect in your comments):

(1)- Scheduling of sessions- I could not attend some sessions because they clashed. (2)- Some presenters didn't show up because they were interviewing, that is unprofesional. (3)- Cash bar at Saturday night reception did not accept tickets. (4)- Totally unsatisfied with your unethical practice. Beverage coupons couldn't be redeemed during the

reception. We couldn't use them on Saturday reception, and your staffs told me "these coupons can redeemed only at the earlybird reception." The coupons say "please present this coupon this coupon for a complementary beverage at the schedule reception." I did present my coupons but could not get any beverage.

(5)- There was a mouse in Salon J, Sunday. (6)- #9--A number of presenters lacked basic presentation/public speaking skills. (7)- (1) Quality of several presentations was rather weak -- needs a more restrictive review process (2)

Location was not appropriate -- reception area was in bad condition, the same is true for some presentation rooms (e.g., Cape Cod) (3) Presentation rooms shouldn't be scattered over different floors (4) I definitely miss a "welcome" speech (and subsequent presentation) to all participants. . (5) I would definitely prefer to receive a printed version of the proceedings. Two reasons: (a) One can browse through the proceedings while attenting the conference, (b) the online version-only reduces the academic status of the proceedings as a publication outlet.

(8)- 10) Much impersonalization in the catering events. The coupons for drinks and the queues in front of the bars, the arms-length behavior of the waiters precluded a rahter inhospitable atmosphere. 7) It was not the Westin, but the Marriot Copley that accommodate us actually. I would expect something more luxurious for the cost of accommodation.

(9)- the air-conditioning was excessively cold and made it difficult to concentrate in the presentations! (10)- In planning food, must always consider people who are vegetarian as well as vegans - that means

no cheese,no meats, and these things cannot be touching foods that vegan people eat.. presentation is key..

(11)- The cost of the conference hotel is absolutely RIDICULOUS and I have to question the value of my registration with the conference at all.

(12)- a networking service would be great for "greenhorns" (13)- I want to use my drink tickets at the Saturday evening reception also. (14)- more interview booths: you had a lot, but even more would help. (15)- I still do not understand why all of the major AMA conferences must be held in expensive locations. I

think it would be good to at least try every three years to find someplace more affordable to all faculty/business professionals involved in the conference.

(16)- Starting the convention on Sunday would allow me to participate more effectively in the conference's functions

(17)- I didn't know "the Westin" was the conference hotel. (18)- Need more booth space for placement so paying members may have a place to interview! (19)- The hotel - non working shower, non working refrigerator, sloooooow elevators, food at events - just

ok, no reflection on AMA staff and the area of Boston was great (20)- The necessity of submitting a check or actual deposit to guarantee the hotel room is a supreme

hassle and not necessary at any other conference I attend (ACR, Marketing Science, SCP, etc.). I'd rather pay a slightly higher room rate to avoid the extreme hassle of dealing with this process while booking a room.

(21)- Never enough elevators for interviewees and teh receptions could use one more bar station. (22)- My presentation was the last one in the last day. Therefore There were a few people there. Well, i

think my paper impact has been less than i wanted before attending from a very far country. is there any solution on AMA hands for the future?

(23)- 1)I am an administrator so I neither teach nor research. 2) Poor publicity regarding receptions and meals.

(24)- Had a slight problem with Marriott billing. It took a little while for Marriott to remove the pre-authorization on my card. It was not removed until I called back in after the conference.

(25)- Only conference where no meals were served. (26)- I was there interviewing candidates, so I cannot give an opinion on some of the items mentioned

above. (27)- Only attended two sessions and spoke at one so my satisfaction with the sessions was limited to the

ones I attended. SO MANY were topics that I just don't care about (28)- more quality (snacks, fruit, food, pastries) at morning and afternoon breaks. (29)- The focus on interviewing reduces the focus on presentations (30)- Question 3 above ignores the obvious fact that many AMA members are administrators--deans,

department chairs, etc.--and do other thing besides teaching and research. Know your audience! (31)- The elevators were incredibly slow. The luncheon food was edible but not great. (32)- I was on the market, and I was very satisfied with the layout of the hotel. Getting from room-to-room

was faster than I expected, even though the elevators were a little crowded and slow at times. (33)- AMA applicant/interviewer sessions were not organized the first day. The booths or room

assignments for the universities should be finalized at least one week prior to the event so that candidates can schedule their meetings accordingly. In addition, the hours for the placement rooms need to be expanded to 6AM to 6PM, particularly if the placement service is going to remain the primary vehicle of candidate-university communications. In short, the process requires better coordination of the applicants and universities.

(34)- I really feel that the cost of the hotel was absurd. For small schools with even smaller budgets, that could be a reason some do not attend.

(35)- I don't like the new Friday evening to Monday Noon schedule. I prefered the the Saturday evening to Tuesday Noon schedule.

(36)- Too expensive. As research budgets dry up, this is becoming too costly to attend. (37)- There was nothing in the program about the reception the 2nd night, but when I went down there to

meet someone for dinner, I found a bar set up and many of the conference participants there. This needs to be made very clear in the future.

(38)- The quality of presentations is always less consistent during the summer AMA (in comparison to the winter AMA). However, more specialized, focused topics would be more useful. Focused workshops during the conference itself would be even more valuable.

(39)- Good conference! (40)- Very low quality presentations.

15) If so, in which city would you prefer the conference be held?

(1)- New Haven (2)- Washignton DC, Atlanta (3)- Chicago (4)- Indianapolis, Louisville, Cincinatti (5)- Mid-atlantic or south-east region (6)- Miami. But most importantly, it shouldn't be one of the usual suspects. I have traveled to San

Antonio some years ago, so I would definitely prefer to discover new places. (7)- Seattle (8)- Florida, Colorado, Hawaii, New Orleans (9)- Can we try some more reasonable cost smaller cities please? (10)- Rotating is good. Boston-Chicago-SF, maybe 1 or 2 more. (11)- Since many of the AMA's members come from countries outside of the US ,schedueling the

conference outside the US e.g. in Europe from time to time could be nice (12)- Boston was a nice choice, I'm glad you vary the cities each year. (13)- Boston was great. Next year in San Francisco will also be great. I like the rotating West, Chicago,

East schedule. (14)- Boston was awesome! The location was perfect - within walking distance to everything!! (15)- Move it annually. (16)- Boston is fine, it's just nice to go to different locations. (17)- Somewhere in the south or midwest...a city easier to get to by everyone. (18)- keep it rotating among cities in various regions (19)- Atlanta (20)- Denver, Tampa, San Antonio, Portland, Seattle (21)- Atlanta (22)- What about holding the AMA in New York City at least once? It can't be any more expensive for

rooms than SF or Boston and it would give us an opportunity to view the hub of the world economy (23)- Burlington, Vt. Atlantic City, NJ Nashville, TN (24)- Boston and San Francisco are fine. (25)- Seattle-Tacoma (26)- Chicago (27)- St. Petersburg Las Vegas Salt Lake City Denver St. Louis Oahu, Hawaii (28)- The current rotation works well. It's fun to go to different cities. (29)- Try a new city other than DC, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston (30)- Best cities: Boston Chicago San Fransisco (31)- Philadelphia (32)- Lower cost accommodations. Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Chicago, Dallas, etc., would half the costs.

Picking cities like Boston, San Fran, NY are prestigious but we're wasting a bucket load on money on rooms and parking that we spend 1/4 of our time in.

(33)- I believe the conference should continue to travel around to different venues in the country every year.

28) Please provide any specific comments you have regarding any of the previously mentioned presentations.

(1)- The BEERSIG "session" was extremely well attended (better than most formal sessions), even though it was not on the official program. This observation suggests that a need exists for a few sessions that are more "fun" in nature.

(2)- The key sessions where the top professors (Kotler, Sheth, Tellis, etc should not be concurrent with other sessions. PLEASE.

(3)- The Beersig session was an island of humor in a sea of pomposity. Why do these conferences have to be so dull?

(4)- Need more sessions like the old half or full day SIG programming (5)- All presentations should be reviewed by a methodological expert as part of the review process. (6)- It always needed more international academic exchanges among continents. (7)- .. THE SPORT ONE WAS GOOD... THE BEERSIG ONE WAS GREAT FUN... (8)- Emailed two SIGS for dinner or luncheon reservation but heard back from only one. Awards

luncheon goes on too long--too many speeches. Couldn't believe that all 3 drink tickets had to be used at Friday's reception and could not be used on Saturday! There were schools using my interviewing booth during my reserved times. There should be 8-12 and 1-5 time-slots for interviewing booths.

(9)- I saw no presentations (see below). (10)- I was disappointed that there was only one reception in the exhibits area (Friday night). It would

have been good to have one on Saturday evening as well. (11)- There Should be more "social" activities (12)- Already explained earlier (13)- The program was one of the best I have ever seen at Summer Educators'.

(1)- The Summer AMA is the "happening" event for the marketing educator, globally. Paper presentations,the placement buzz, leading edge research topics and good weather makes this even a "must attend" for marketing professionals particularly academics or intending academics. (2)- I found the AMA conference very instructive. The reviewers' comments were very well founded and useful. A conference of high quality. Notwithstanding the relatively large number of participants and attendants leads to alienation among the participants of different tracks (sessions), very limited opportunities for interactions along the sessions (even in the receptions' events).

(3)- Despite being woefully dull, the AMA Summer Conference is still the main event. (4)- If you have an open position, recruiting at the Summer AMA is a must. (5)- I think the last sessions are less attended than others. Maybe if you leave a final attraction it could

solve this circunstance
