For decades the name MARTIN has not only stood for
excellence in woodworking, but also for our expertise
in machining plastics . In short, it’s all about machining
and finishing semi-finished products like panels,
blocks, rods, tubes and other forms of thermo- and
duroplastics. We are very proud to count among our
customers, large international enterprises as well as
small innovative businesses.
For those companies that are engaged in craft trades
and produce individual parts or medium size production
series, the possibility of machining plastics on our
machines may be of special interest. With our machines
you can also process plastic material that cannot
normally or only with great effort be processed by
production methods like injection moulding, extrusion
or blow moulding.

If you want to perfectly plane a workpiece, with the T54
surface planer you create the best conditions. Since only
perfectly aligned workpieces can be processed further with
the highest quality.
The central role of the T45 planer on the other hand is the
precise processing of surfaces. Along with the demand of
bringing the material precisely to a defined thickness, often
the visual quality of the surface is at the forefront. With the
T45 you are in the right place. Even materials of under 1.5 mm
residual thickness can be processed absolutely safely – our
vacuum technology makes it possible.
Recycling and separating
Our T45 also offers the ideal setting for recycling tasks thanks
to its impressive features and options. Increasingly our machine
is expected to separate thin and thinnest co-extruded or fabric
laminated materials again. A task that the T45 carries out
perfectly. Thanks to our technology you enhance the treasures
that lie dormant in your waste.

Profiling and planing in one machine.
With the T45 Contour you have the most unique
solution in the world for efficient profiling of areas
one pass. There you have the choice between the
Contour15 and the Contour25, which can profile up to
15.5 mm or 25 mm depth respectively. If no knives
are inserted into the cutterhead knife pockets, the
T45 Contour15 is a fully fledged planer. With the T45
Contour profiles of up to 630 mm can be machined,
a process that normally requires more expensive
specialist machinery.

Flexible, quick and precise with TERSA.
For more than 25 years MARTIN has relied on the in-
house produced TERSA – solid steel cutterhead, with
which thanks to a wide range of cutting tools – you can
react geometrically flexibly, quickly and precisely to the
most varied of material requirements. Along with this
very variable cutterhead, which can also be delivered
with specially adapted cutting angles, the traditional
cutterblock as well as a special Helix cutterblock are
also available to you. All cutterblocks can optionally be
delivered with special speeds of up to 6,000 rpm. In
order to process thin and thinnest materials safely and
without impacts we recommend the combination of
smooth polished thicknessing table and vacuum support.
Through the finely dosed vacuum the material is quietly
held and so perfectly processed while running through.

The perfect interaction of material and machine.

The continuous adjustment of the feed, we offer two regulation
ranges here, ensures a perfect interaction of material, tool,
feed and chip removal. Thanks to the series electronic control
of the planing height the most precise material thicknesses
are achievable, on demand the control system operates at a
resolution of 0.05 mm. These values are realistically achievable,
as the thicknessing table has four load-bearing spindles and
two precise feed-absorbing prism guides. Incidentally the
sound-absorbing construction in modern industrial design
ensures working as quiet as a whisper.

The guidance that you need.
Along with the planar preparation of the first area on the
workpiece also angular edges are processed in great precision
by the T54. Because only with perfect surface planing results
can you get the perfect end result. That is why the T54
provides the optimum basis for the most precise thickness
planing results. The smooth running fence with integrated
auxiliary fence enables a quick, precise and safe working.
The ball bearing guided planing stop runs softly on hardened
rails and without twisting – precisely for years just like on the
first day. Even chamfers can be planed in an instant, because
any angle between 90° and 45° can be set quickly. with the
manually operated control.

Along with the precise separation, cutting and formatting of materials the dimensionally
accurate cutting of angles in the area and on the edge with a sliding table saw are
at the forefront. If the cuts do not take place at the correct angle, quick extensive
calculations are required in order to be able to produce dimensionally accurate work-
piece at any time and precisely. MARTIN gives you machines which best support you
in these demanding tasks. Since being able to set precise cuts regardless of the
saw blade selected, the modern controllers work with powerful tool conversion as
well as numerous calculation aids and assistants. All electronically controlled axes
of the machine always work on the basis of current tool dimensions. So dimensional
deviations that might come up when tasks are repeatable are now a thing of the past.

also allows you to cut heat-sensitive
plastics, as well as non-ferrous metals
in steps with a cool head. The cooling
lubricant is dosed at the point and

Speed on demand.
A motor, which is continuously regulated at between 2,000
and 6,000 rpm, ensures that every material can be processed
with the optimum cutting speed. Powerful motors from 7.5 to
11 kW output allow you to make powerful use of the cutting
height at all times. The saw blade is always precisely set to
0.01° – just like you need for the most precise angle cuts.
Command centre
Along with precision and process security machine operation
with a modern touchscreen also simply makes working a
pleasure. Settings fit to a tee, complicated settings and cuts
work the first time. This saves money and is just fun.
More powerful cut up to 204 mm.
The T75 PreX, MARTIN’s flagship is the first saw worldwide
that combines a cutting height of more than 200 mm and a
tilting range of 2 x 46° in one machine. The doubling of the
cutting angle range to 92° opens up a limitless variety of new
options in the processing of plastics to you. On the T75 PreX
cuts, which so far could not be carried out with sliding table
saws, or only with a lot of effort, can be done without much
ado. The T65 and T60 formatting saws work with a tilting
range of 0 – 46° and also with a 204 mm cutting height.

The optional RadioCompens angle cutting system
reduces the setup times for precise length angular
cuts on the MARTIN saws by up to 80 %. You simply
set the mitre cross-cut table wirelessly connected to the
control system to the desired cutting angle – and
the intelligent radio-controlled electronics takes care
of the rest. You will always see the correctly calculated
length on both displays of the digital stop which belong
to the package.

The list of processing, which you can precisely and cheaply perform with a MARTIN
spindle moulder is almost endless. Through the integrated tool conversion you can
also equip complex moulding patterns with tilted spindles in an instant. Only this
enables the wide tilting range of 2 x 46° to be used efficiently. No matter whether
you work with a fixed spindle or with the spindle tilted to the front or to the back, the
controller prompts you in settig up the moulding process. After activating the tool,
the controller will indicate the location to reference the tool in relation to the table
and fence jaws. This way set-up times that used to be very time-consuming can be
performed rapidly – a major step in the direction of more flexibility, efficiency and
process safety for the operator.

Continuous distancing for perfect results.
For the quality of the surface alongside the optimum
cutting speed the good and safe workpiece support or
guidance is crucial too. The patented electrically-adjust-
able table rings can be variably adapted to the diameter
of the tool directly in the programme or by a single
keystroke. With machines from other manufacturers
this is not always an easy task especially when the
spindle is tilted.

You can setup in seconds thanks to the HSK Option.
With the tried and test MARTIN DornFix quick change system
you can change the arbor in a few minutes and so you can
vary the arbor diameter without any problems. If your working
situation requires very frequent tool and/or arbor changes,
you can choose the optional, pneumatic HSK system. This is
recommended for all, who see their spindle moulder as an
effective supplement to a CNC processing centre.
Adjustment in seconds with the rotational speed control.
The tool speed can, depending on model and design, vary
in 5 or 6 stages via belt change. A perfect adaptation of the
cutting speed to the materials being processed is enabled by
the optionally available continuous speed control of the tool
speed. The rotational speeds range from 1,000 to 12,000 rpm,
motor powers of up to 11 kW are available.

Depending on machine and equipment you work with up to
seven motorised and controlled axes. Depending on the
equipment chosen you have the option, along with the cutting
height of controlling the cutting angle, the cutting depth,
the infeed jaw of the fence, the table opening, the height
adjustment of the feed support as well as the feed speed
with the highest precision with the controller. You can store up
to 1,000 tools and 1,000 programmes in the control system.
A powerful search function, as well as groups and favourite
functions assist you in selecting the needed profiles.
The positionable feed support
considerably accelerates set-up times.
With the motorised feed support the
feed position can be adjusted quickly
and accurately. And if you don’t need the
feed support you simply tilt it to the side
without losing the previous settings.
