Health & Nutrition week – Health Leaders to hold an assembly on importance of healthy lifestlyes including nutrition for whole school. All classes to be involved in planning, making and evaluating a healthy meal (cross-curricular link to DT) Bronze Ambassadors lead an assembly on physical activity and then run skip2bfit workshops with each class. Continue with The Daily Mile March 2017 ‘Safe, Fit & healthy Me’ month. Educate children about active travel to school, challenge them to walk, cycle or scoot to school for this month.

-children have raised awareness of what a healthy and active lifestyle is - children’s fitness levels are improved through their involvement in PE and other sporting events provided by the school - Improved attitudes towards sport result in pupils joining in break or lunchtime sporting activities – or taking up sport in clubs etc outside school Children gain an understanding of how active travel (i.e. walking or cycling to school) benefits them and the environment. Purchase new bike and scooter racks to encourage children to bring them to school.

Specialist teaching for PE lessons -Specialist coach employed to teach games lessons, working alongside class teachers with KS1 and KS2 classes. (Game On) Develop links to local sports clubs to develop range of opportunities on offer and to assist in CPD, coaching and extra-curricular clubs - - Lacrosse coach employed for lessons and club in summer term ‘18 (KS 2) - Tag Rugby coach employed for half a term Feb ‘17

-KS1 and 2 children make better progress in PE by receiving specialist teaching -Working alongside teachers for CPD purposes -children given extra-curricular opportunities for after school clubs and to be part of a competitive league, tournaments in both football, rugby, hockey, lacrosse and cricket.
