Session Outline • Re-cap on the story of Little Red Riding Hood and how she became suspicious when she noticed ‘Grandma’s’ BIG eyes, ears and teeth. Do they know their 5 senses and which body part is associated with each sense? • Explain that they are going to learn about UK species which have super eyes, ears and teeth which helps them to survive in their habitat. • Preparation: Print out the hunt cards & hide them in your environment. • Print out the recording sheets. • You may wish to make a simple map of your outdoor area & mark where you have hidden the clues if you wish. Differentiation: HA- Can they read/ remember any of the facts about the species? LA- Prompts and help as needed with finding and reading the hunt cards. Extension: Can they name/ find out about any other creatures with super senses/ big features? Lesson Objectives Children will learn about some UK species with large features and super senses.
