During the Training

Using the Go to Training toolbar located to the right of your screen you have the ability to raise your hand or send a chat message to the trainer.

As you follow along with the training, you have two options:

1. Take notes in the packet that pertain to features you want to utilize within your organization. This packet can be utilized later as you set up your system.

2. For the more technologically advanced: Open your system in an alternate browser/window. This works especially well if you utilize dual monitors. The training is fast paced and you must be comfortable toggling back and forth rather quickly.

Objectives

In the Performance Pro Employee Training, we will log into Performance Pro as an Employee. By the end of the training, you will have an understanding of how to complete a Self -Appraisal using Performance Pro. The key objectives for this training include:

Completing a Performance Review

An Appraiser can complete a Performance Review in 5 easy steps. 1. Evaluate Organizational Values: Evaluate assigned Organizational Values, provide a numerical

rating and add comments. 2. Evaluate Goals: Evaluate previously established goals (if applicable), provide a numerical rating

and add comments. 3. Set New (Future) Goals: Establish new goals for the current or future appraisal period. 4. Summary Comments: Complete Summary Comments section as required by your organization. 5. Finish Performance Review (Mark Ready, Merge, and Route & Complete): Mark the

performance review as Ready. Merge the employee’s self-appraisal with the appraiser’s evaluation and complete the performance review.

EMPOLOYEE: The action of Marking Ready for Meeting for the employee will lock the employee out of the performance review and from adding future goals. APPRAISER: The action of Marking Ready for the Appraiser starts the finishing steps for the performance review. The manager will still have the ability to edit the performance review until it has been marked complete with the exception of during the routing process.

Navigation & Menus

Tool Bar. Used to navigate the system. It gives you access to Save, Spelling, Help and your employee selection menu.

Menu. Gives you access to the different system features including the Appraisal.

Role. Ensures you have access to the features needed to complete an Appraisal.

Evaluate Organizational Values

(Performance Review > Evaluate Organizational Values > Evaluation)

After selecting the Organizational Values you want to evaluate, read through the Description and Organizational Value Level Definitions on the left. Enter a score based on the Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scale details and add comments. Note that there is no Save button while navigating the Performance Review screens as the system will automatically save your changes.

Why do we add comments?

Employee Goal Tools

(Employee Documents > Employee Goal Tools)

Add Future Goal

1. From the main menu, under Employee Documents, click Employee Goal Tools. 2. The Current Goals tab will display. Click the Future Goals tab. 3. Click the Add New Button. 4. Enter a new Goal name in the Name box. For easy viewing of the titles, keep them brief. 5. Enter a detailed description of the Goal in the Description box. 6. Click Spelling and/or Language Check to review your text. 7. Enter a weight in the Weight box. 8. If you would like to assign this Goal a due date, enter the date in the Due Date field (dd-mm-yyyy) or

click on the calendar icon and select the desired date. 9. Click Save on the toolbar. 10. If desired, add specific Goal Action Steps by clicking Add New in the Action Steps box. Enter a Name,

Description and Due Date for the Action Step. 11. Repeat until all Action Steps have been entered.

Note:

You may continue to edit goals you have added using the Edit icon until your manager or Administrative User makes changes to the goal. In addition to being able to add their own goals to the Future section, Appraiser may also edit or delete goals that employees have added.

Summary Comments

(Appraisal > Summary Comments)

Summarize performance for the appraisal period. This section is also customizable to fit the needs of your organization, requiring additional information from the employee.

Finish Performance Review

(Performance Review > Finish Performance Review)

Ready

As an Employee, once a Performance Review is marked Ready, it will move into a read-only finalized copy unavailable for future edits.

Completing a Performance Review

A Performance Review in Performance Pro can be completed in 5 easy steps.

1. Evaluate Organizational Values

Widgets are the boxes of information available to you on your Home Screen that can be customized and moved based on your organization’s settings. As an employee you can also add your own widgets by selecting the tool for User area.

Required: Anything that is required of you.

To Be Signed. Items needing an E-Signature. Form Inbox. Forms that have been sent to you as an Employee.

Assigned: Widgets that are assigned by the Admin.

Company Files. List of files available for download. Employee Notes. An area where you can track your own personal performance management throughout

the appraisal period.
