Key application fields are emulsion polymerization, pigment preparation and architectural coatings as well as paint additive production. Our objective is helping our customers meeting their customers’ requirements for performance and quality as well as the needs from the consumer market such as low odor, low VOC levels and favorable labeling.

Wetting agents are added to waterborne coatings to improve the wetting of the coated surface and to improve the stability of the paint formulation. Further benefits such as increased open-time, defoaming effect or improved compatibility with pigments and other paint components can be achieved by selecting the right perfor-mance additive.

Clariant offers a technology based on the inorganic composite of silver chloride on titanium dioxide, delivering a preservative active with truly beneficial properties. The active substances are silver ions which interact with the microorganisms resulting in a range of effects from growth inhibition and loss of infectivity to cell death.
